CD Tester

We are one of the leading manufacturers of Cathodic Disbonding (CD) tester, which is designed to test and accurately determine the characteristics of insulating coating systems applied over steel material. The purpose of coating system is to prevent corrosion that could occur in the underground pipeline services. These underground pipes are coated and cathodically protected. Applied cathodic protection potentials may cause loosening of the coating, beginning at holiday edges. Such potentials can cause spontaneous holidays. Test method provides accelerated conditions for cathodic disbondment to occur and provides a measure of resistance of coatings to this type of action. Cathodic disbondment tester is used in civil engineering for evaluation of epoxy coated rebars to evaluate effect of cathodic protection on epoxy-coated reba.

Salt Spray Test Apparatus

Salt Spray Test Apparatus

Caltech Engineering Services manufactures and exports salt highly efficient spray testing instrument. Salt spray test is also called as Fog Test. This is an accelerated environmental corrosion test in which metal specimens are exposed either continuously or intermittently to a fine mist of salt-water solution used to evaluate the resistance to corrosion of paints, coatings, or electrical connections. The appearance of corrosion products (oxides) is evaluated after a period of time. Test duration depends on the corrosion resistance of the coating. Therefore, the more corrosion resistant the coating is, the longer the period in testing without showing signs of corrosion.

In the salt spray test cabinet painted/coated panels, automobile components i.e. Electro-plated, Painted, and Anodized etc are exposed to a mist of salt over a period of test duration. Saturated air produced by spraying common salt solution into an enclosed cabinet creates humid atmosphere up to 98%. The articles being positioned for this accelerated corrosion test in such a way that they are exposed to the hot mist produced in the chamber, through the controlled air and liquid nozzles. The instrument is suitable for testing as per IS /BS / ASTM standards. Testing is carried out at 35o C or even up to 50o C.
