Port Hole cutters have a wide application in the Hydraulic Industry. These are generally manufactured in a combination of Solid Carbide Lugged design for drilling,carbide tipped design for chamfering and spot facing or fully solid carbide, depending on the application.

The tools are coupled with multiple operations like hole making,combination chamfer of 15° and 45° (Or as per user specifications) along with spot facing. Specific radius is provided at intersection point of chamfer and spot facing to ensure proper seating of'O'ring. Well controlled length tolerances ensure accurate forms.

These tools are designed for generation of port holes at cast or pre-core cast holes. The tools are capable of directly finishing the holes with min. 0.8 Ra finish on chamfers. As these are application oriented tools with coupled operations, cutting speeds and feeds are to be applied on suggestive basis only.These tools are generally supplied with straight flutes for higher accuracy of port angle. The tools are normally used with through coolant hole, wherever L/D ratio exceeds 1.5D.

These tools can also be manufactured with slow helix for chip disposal in blind holes for non through coolant holes application. Solid Carbide tools are supplied with coating and Lugged/CT combination tools are supplied without coating.
