CCT, being committed to become a major hub on the East Coast, has invested substantially to develop a world class infrastructure with state of the art facilities and modern container handling equipment to cater to the growing demand of the flourishing business and to ensure faster turnaround of vessels whilst remaining highly efficient with increased productivity of 30plus gross crane moves per hour.
The terminal has been certified by DNV Det Norske Veritas with ISO9001:2000 for Quality Management System, ISO14001:2004 for Environmental Management System, OHSAS18001:2007 for Occupational Health and Safety Management System and ISO28000:2007 for Supply Chain Security Management System. BSI has certified DP World Chennai for ISO27001:2005 for Information Security Management System. It has also focused on enhanced safety measures in all spheres of its operations has enabled DP World Chennai to become a Fatal Free Terminal for three consecutive years in a row.
DP World Chennai has invested in state of the art IT infrastructure with the upgraded version of the TOS Terminal Operating System - Navis Sparcs 3.7 and Express 2.9. CCT is the first terminal in India to use this upgraded version. The potential benefits of the upgraded system include faster and efficient vessel and yard planning thereby reducing both vessel and truck turn around times; enhanced reporting systems to the customers by way of EDI messages and web access; increased and more comprehensive usage of remote devices, all of which not only adds value to the customers using the services of the terminal but also make the experience an enjoyable one.

The SOUTH EAST CEO CONCLAVE and AWARDS 2010 organised by EXIM INDIA the renowned shipping journal in India along with Fairplay Exposition Group was undoubtedly an evening to be cherished. The event was held in Taj Coromandel on 31st July, 2010.
This once again had reinforced DP World Chennai’s leadership position among the other Container Terminals in this region. It shows that the DP World Chennai is not only the leader in terms of volume but also the best in terms of serving the customer’s, meeting their requirements, bringing in new technology, state of art equipment and facilities and processes to enable growth of containerization in South and East India.
The event was attended by many leading trade dignitaries such as Mr. K. Mohandas, Secretary, Union Ministry of Shipping, was the Chief Guest for the evening. The other dignitaries were Mr. Mohan V. Chunkath, CEO, Tamil Nadu Maritime Board, Mr. D.T.Joseph, Former Shipping Secretary.
Mr. Ennarasu Karunesan, Director and CEO, DP WORLD, Chennai’s presentation was the curtain raiser of the event. He highlighted on the various enhancements and evolutions the box trade has gone through in regard to efficiency, productivity, ship sizes etc over the years. He also emphasised on the various outstanding parameters that DP WORLD, Chennai has been performing.
