About UsABOUT US CDOT Alcatel Research Center (CARC) is a Joint Venture between Alcatel-Lucent and the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), the Indian Government's telecom technology development centre in establishing a global R&D center, dedicated to broadband wireless access. The company is 51 percent Alcatel-Lucent owned and the remaining 49% by C-DOT. The world-leading expertise of Alcatel-Lucent in fixed and mobile broadband networks together with C-DOT's knowledge of local market conditions would enable CARC to come up with an optimum solution for the local carriers to build a user-centric broadband infrastructure for Indian consumers. Its primary focus is on WiMAX Rev-E solutions, adapted to the needs of Indian carriers and customers. Subsequently, these adapted solutions can be used in other high-growth economies worldwide. |
Awards / RecognitionNational Telecom Awardwas a proud moment for C-DOT Alcatel Research Center on Thursday 17th May 2007, evening at the India Habitat Center in Delhi. The joint venture which was set up in India a little less than two years ago already bagged the award for Excellence in R&D at the first ever National Telecom Awards 2007. The award was conceptualized by TEMA (Telecom Equipment Manufacturers Association), the national apex body recognized by the Government of India to represent telecom Technology Providers and stakeholders of the Telecom Fraternity in India
