It was your demand that Celoxis shorten the duration when you assign more resources or increase their allocation. Well, we have listened and bring you even more. You can now enter the effort required to complete a task. Celoxis will automatically adjust duration when you assign more/less resources. Further, you can also specify whether a task is Fixed Work, Fixed Duration or Fixed Units.
If a task is Fixed Effort, Celoxis automatically shrinks/grows the task’s finish date when a resource allocation is changed.
If a task is Fixed Duration, Celoxis automatically shrinks/grows the resource’s allocation when task effort is increased/decreased.
If a task is Fixed Units, Celoxis automatically shrinks/grows the task efforts when task duration is increased/decreased.
Enhanced resource allocation screen with "What-If" analysis
The resource allocation screen now shows the current load as well as the free time for every resource in task’s duration so that you can quickly identify those resources who can be allocated without causing conflicts. In addition, you can check if your proposed allocation will overload any resources before you save the allocation. Resource conflicts will be a thing of the past!
Full Time Zone Support
Celoxis scheduling engine takes into account every resource’s time zone while scheduling tasks. This is useful for organizations where resources from different time zones participate in projects.
Instead of time-zone being set per user, time-zones will now be set per work calendar. So a user’s time-zone will be the time zone of the work calendar.
Cross Project Task Dependencies
You can now specify dependency between tasks of different projects. Specify it as [Project Unique ID]:[Task ID] in the predecessor column in the task worksheet.
Enhanced Allocation Screen - resolve conflicts before they happen
Location specific holidays, Recurring holidays & Exception work timings
You can specify holidays per location (work calendar). This is useful when you have offices and teams in different countries.
You can also enter exception work/non-work hours. E.g. you can specify that some users will be working from 8 to 12 the next 2 weekends to complete some high priority work. Celoxis automatically includes these days when calculating a task’s finish date
Through their individual calendar users can also enter work/non-work hours. For example, a user may be attending a part-day seminar and may not be available for working on their tasks.
Holidays like Christmas and other exception work timings can now be marked as recurring
Departments
Group users and projects into departments for easier management and security.
