ABC Cables are made of PVC / Polyethelene / Cross Linked polyethelene insulation with aluminium conductors which are twisted over a central bare/ insulated aluminium alloy messenger wire are used for overhead distribution of Power.
The messenger wire serves as the earth cum neutral wire. The phase conductors are therefore not under tension.
Control cables are used for control circuits in industrial installations like power plants, steel plants, cement plants and other similar units and signaling network of Railways.
These cables are generally made of solid / stranded annealed, bare / tinned copper wire of typically 1.5 sqmm, 2.5 sqmm size and range from 2 cores to 61 cores. Round wire / Flat strip is used for armouring. Control Cables are PVC insulated color coded cables ( earthed or unearthed ). These cables may be used on d.c. systems for rated voltage up to 1500 V..
