We have master craftsmen who have the art of carving wood (earlier they use to carve ivory/bone) in any shape and they got this art of carving from their blood. You can see the Knights which has been carved so minutely that at first attempt one can't make judgment, that this is a wood or some other material, looks like a real one. The Staunton and Artistic Chess Pieces are hand carved in fine woods by the master craftsmen and the pieces are double or triple weighted for better balancing while playing. The bottom of the chess pieces are felted with soft green cloths or with leather, this may be done according to your choice.
