About UsCollege Book Center started in 1980, in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Paritosh Vardhan Jain, the entrepreneur, initiated the business with institutional distribution and retail sales of Engineering & other higher education books.
It wasn’t long before the company became a leading distributor of major publications, with tie-ups with leading national and international book publishers.
In 1985 College Book Center forayed into publication with the first book as the Guide Book for the preparation of Examination for the Rajasthan Government Clerical Jobs. This Guide Book was very successful and the increasing demand encouraged CBC to publish more Guides for other similar exams.
In 1992 the company started publication of Arts and Science books. This included the books on Literature, Biosciences, Physics, Chemistry, Sociology, Computers etc.
In 1997 the company started what was to become its most popular product range, the books on Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, for Medical & Engineering Entrance Examinations. Since the exams in all the states have similar syllabus, these books were designed to cater to almost all such entrance exams around the country. These books have been very popular around the country since the launch.
College Book Center started the publication of Engineering & Computer text books in 2001. The books have been very popular in the state and are a part of the syllabus in various universities in the state.
The company has increased the titles on engineering to 45 in a short span of 7 years. There are other subjects being researched upon, and we expect to release them very soon.
College Book Center also opened its in house DTP centre in Year 2006. To cater to the growing scales, CBC moved its business activities to another business location in Jaipur.
