unit engaged in the manufacture of starch and all kinds of modified
starches at par with international standards using tapioca tuber and
maize (corn), and the largest producers of starch and its modified starches in india.
Its modern semi-automated plant set a pioneering trend in tapioca starch industry in india and has imported machineries from sweden, germany and thailand. For the first time in india, about 25,000 mt. of its tapioca starch products were exported it have impressive list of leading industries and multinationals in the paper, textiles, food and adhesive sectors in their clientele. Vsil substitutes imports to the extent of 15,000 mt per year of modified starches in the highly sensitive white, map litho, executive bond and xerox paper manufacturing industry.
Vsil has set up bio-methanation plant to generate 30000 m3 bio gas per day from starch processing waste water and this bio gas is utilized for thermal applications replacing hsd and furnace oil.
Vsil has released exciting range of new products for the corrugation industry. Vsil is also embarking on a diversification to produce 250 mt per day of maize starch, and the plant would be on stream by june 2009.
Other upcoming products are pregelatinised starch, coating starch for paper and organic glue alternative for pva based glue.
