 Capacities ranging from 10 c.c to 700 c.c. The purity of platinum metal is 99.95% at least. 

APPLICATION AND LIMITATIONS

FUSIONS:  

The Pure platinum recipients can be used to melt the following;

 1. Sodium or Potassium carbonate.

2. Sodium carbonate, sodium nitrite or nitrate.

3. Sodium borate or sodium metaphosphate. (The platinum is slightly attacked

at very high temperature or in reducing atmosphere.

4. Alkaline bifluorides.

^{5. Alkaline bisulphate.}

EVAPORATION:

 The pure platinum recipients may be used for evaporation with:

a. Sulphuric acid in the presence or absence of hydrofluoric acid.

b. Hydrofluoric acid in the absence of chlorides and other halides. 

c. Hydrochloric acid in absence of oxidizing agents.

^{d. Hydroxides or alkaline carbonates.} 

ELECTROLYSIS

Platinum is used:

 1. As an anode in most electrolytes, except for strongly hydrochloric solutions.

2. As a cathode for deposition of metals using acid solution.

 For electrolysis of tin, silver, zinc, gallium and bismuth salts, the platinum electrodes should first be copper plated to prevent superficial alloying with the deposited metal. 

• The radial locking lid is made of thick S.S. plate
• All units are hydraulically tested up to 40psi
• The inner chamber, steam jacket, outer chamber and boiler are made of heavy gauge stainless steel with leak proof argon arc welding
• Steam boiler is fitted with water level indicator, pressure gauge, low water cut-off device and automatic pressure control device.
• The unit is provided with a positive self-locking safety door which cannot be opened while the chamber is under pressure and disengages automatically when chamber is exhausted. This affords complete safety to the working personnel against explosive opening.
• The space between the outer chamber and steam jacket is filled with asbestos sheet or glass wool to minimize thermal losses.
• Fitted with a Digital Temperature Indicator to indicate inner temperature, vacuum breaker to break vacuum in case of formation of vacuum due to steam condensation.
• The chamber discharge line is fitted with a moisture trap to absorb the condensate automatically thus preventing moistening of the loaded material to be sterilized.
• The unit is fitted with all standard accessories such as Automatic Pressure Control Switch and Automatic Low Water Cut-Off Device.
• Two separate valves are provided for evacuating steam from inner chamber and jackets as and when desired.
• Sterilization Cycle is controlled by Single Point Multiport Valve.
• To work on 440 volts, 3 phase supply.

Concretes incorporating fly ash or silica fume are less permeable to deleterious elements and thus are more durable than conventional concretes. The Rapid Chloride-ion Permeability Test (RCPT) was designed to assess the resistance of concrete to the penetration of chloride ions, an indicator of its permeability. 

This is a  fully self-contained, complete kit as per ASTM C 1202-05 including the following items:

The concrete cylindrical specimen - 50 mm thk. is first prepared by coating the dry surface with a sealer and then  vacuum conditioning it as per the ASTM codal procedure. Then the saturated specimen is mounted in the Plexiglass chambers, the sealant applied and the reservoirs filled with NaCl & NaOH respectively.The terminals are then connected to the 60 V DC power supply and the current read in mA on the digital readouts every ½ hr. for 6 hrs. The current magnitude depends on the ions passing through the pores of the concrete specimen (including chloride ions), which in turn depend on the permeability of concrete.  The  total charge Q passed in 6 hrs. is calculated as per the formula:
