The Movement of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar S.S.K. Ltd KESHEGAON is progressing under the leadership of Shri. Arvind J. Gore and his well wishers from last ten years.Though the sugar factory is located in draught prone area of Maharashtra it has shown significant achievements in the fields such as lower cost of production minimum expenses on salary and non productive items, capacity utilization, sugar recovery and exports.
Bhoomi pujan was done by Shri. Haribhau S. Pawar a local Agriculturist of factory area on 25th June 2000. The work started on 14th April & trial season on 25th DEC 2001. The work was successfully completed within record period of 9 months.
Response to share collection was great spontaneous and through cash only. Among 9778 shares female shares contributes 1545 (Nos) and backward class contributed 965 shares. Preoperative expenses were minimum and factory earned Rs. 100 Lakh as interest on share capital before trial season.The factory has incorporated many modification in the Std. specification without increasing the std. cost specified by purchase committee appointed by state government. Within the same cost factory is in position to export 2MW of cogeneration power to MSEB. The management has restricted the total project cost to 39.24 crores against 48 crores normated by state government.

Process water saving
Normally Sugar Plants require 6 to 7 lakh liters of water everyday. But this unit is situated in drought affected area and it was targeted to avoid water wastage. The water is efficiently re-circulated and practically there is no everyday need of make up water once the season commences. Water consumed during season – 2001-02 - 822.23m3 /Day Water consumed during season – 2002-03 - 148.31m3 /Day (By recycling cooling water) Excess condensate cooled in mini spray - 501.48 m3 /Day
Bagasse Saving
Because of improvements in specification of machinery and lesser no. of higher capacity machines, the electrical power consumption of plant in Kw per M. Ton of crushed cane was considerably reduced. This resulted in saving of bagasse to 8.98%. This saved bagasse would be used for producing exportable power.
Common Inventory
There is mutual understanding with two other sugar units erected by same erectors to maintain common inventory of spare parts and thus inventory burden is reduced to only one third of the requirement.
Share Collection
This is probable only co-operative institute whose shares were collected in cash and not through Bank proposals. As per Government guidelines when share price was increased from Rs. 3000 to Rs. 5000, the additional price of Rs. 2000 was also paid by share holders in cash.
