General safety rules
1. Do not take short-cuts while coming to and leaving duty.
2. Do not wear loose, flowing clothing while working on or around machines.
3. Do not come to duty bare-footed or wearing chappals. Wear leather shoes or boots, properly laced.
4. Do not indulge in any kind of horse-play or practical jokes, and do not quarrel with anybody.
5. Do not attempt to remove any foreign body from the eye of a co-worker. Take him to the nearest available medical service.
6. Do not leave any plank with nails sticking out at the work place or in the passage.
7. Do not remove from machinery, safety guards or any railing.
8. Do not use defective tools and tackles.
9. Do not take undue risks or chances while at work.
10. Do not stand below suspended loads or lean against stacked material.
11. Do not smoke wherever smoking is prohibited.
12. Do not enter enclosed space for any work unless it is certified safe by a competent person.
13. Do not jump on or off moving vehicle. Wait till the vehicle stops before entering or leaving it.
14. Do not carry sharp tools and materials in your pockets.
15. Do not use barrels, drums, packing boxes, chairs or other make shift arrangements to stand on or support, ladders and scaffolds.
16. Do not leave unattended anything lying around or protruding.
17. Do not overload any lifting appliance or machine.
18. Do not use compressed air for removing dust from your clothes. Do not blow it against anyone. It may injure him.
19. Do not drop materials while working overhead.
20. Safety Belt should be must & encored while working at height.
21. For descending and ascending to & from height ?Fall Arrestor? must be used.
22. Do not keep or pile up materials within four feet of a Railway track.
23. Do not use brick or stone for packing materials.
24. Do not stay close to the furnace while cast iron is tapped out.
25. Do not look at the arc of an electric welding without proper eye protection, as the ray of the are may cause serious eye injury.
26. Do not use finger for matching holes.
