The products also need to be protected from humidity and hence require regular cleaning. The other points that need to be kept in mind to protect the products include:

• Minimize touching by hand
• For long term display, the blade should be kept inside the sheath
• Swords in wood scabbards should be left inside to prevent the scabbard from warping
• Wooden parts like handle and scabbard can be protected by lacquering, varnishing, waxing etc.
