A man with a dream...Mr Vijay started a trousseau chain, Bharat Jeans in 1992 in New Delhi. Without any business education or prior entrepreneurial experience , Mr vijay says that it was sheer persistence and perseverance what got them where they are today.
"We believe in keeping our customers happy and building goodwill" says Mr.Vijay.
"We followed 4 basic rules to help us sustain and grow, which I beleive are essential for any business to grow and even survive".
1.) Define the customer, your target audience.
2.) Keep a check on competitors.
3) Know how to sell your product, your marketing plan.
4) Check your investment cost.
As they say, "if you aren''t rocketing upwards you will come crashing down!" their main focus was always quality and not quantity. Bharat Jeans slowly and steadily grew in number of customers and stores.
Contrary to many biggies in the market Bharat Jeans never publicize through the various channels of marketing. Their only focus was customer satisfaction which gave them their share of publicity through word of mouth.
We did a little survey with those who frequented Bharat Jeans for their formal attire and this is what they ahd to say.
