History started back in 1963, when Late Amrutlal Lakhatariya started a firm named "Hasvantrai & Co. for trading of various kinds of ceramic products. Growing demand of qualitative ceramic products led him, and his son Bharat Lakhatariya, to established Premier Potteries for saucers and cups, Premier Potteries for sanitary products, Apex Ceramics, a complete sanitary ware solution, in 1975, 1979 and 1988 respectively. Apex Ceramic had first of its kind modern Shuttle Kiln in Thangadh.

Amic Ceramics, a fully modern manufacturing unit with tunnel kiln and brand name AMIC started by his sons Mr. Bharat and Prakash Lakhatariya in 1992 to satisfy a continuous flow of demand across India as well as abroad. In 1995, Apex International was started to represent Amic Ceramics in the international market for direct exporting.
