About Us“SYNERGY BIOTECHNOLOGIES” a partnership firm had its genesis in the year 2002 with an intention to create awareness of sustainable and responsible aquaculture among the aquaculture farming community. It is led by its Managing Partner Dr. Narayana Swamy Allada, a PhD in Aquaculture who has been in this industry for a decade. He started his career in this industry as a Technical Manager in Pfizer food science, USA to technically assist their products under an Indian distributor. During his tenure at Pfizer ha had developed few formulations which have gained immense popularity with the farming community and have gained branded status in the industry. He has been ably supported by Mr. Nand Kumar Lathker who shoulders the responsibility of Marketing the products all over the aquaculture areas.
The aqua industry is a highly profitable industry and this has created a plethora of sub standard companies, which has spread themselves far and wide and have been inflicting huge economic losses on the farmers by promoting spurious products. Though this company has been in existence for just over three years, the people behind the promotion of the company and the products have a decade of experience in Aquaculture Industry. The aim of the company is to create an awareness of scientific culture at the grass root level and manufacture and market quality inputs and ensure sustainability of aquaculture and also ensure that the benefits reach the producers i.e. the farmers.
One of the most difficult control points in shrimp farming has been disease management, water quality management and culture practice awareness. Modern aquaculture is a new science through traditional in origin. All forms of food production like any other human activity affect the environment in one way or the other. In the complex and conflicting situation in which the resource management decisions have to be made, neither complete destruction of the natural environment nor complete avoidance of resource exploitation can be practical. A logical course would therefore be a balance between rational use, conservation and preservation in order to optimize man’s use of natural resources on a long time basis. Shrimp farms around the world are struggling to improve efficiency and reduce costs of production. Regulators continue to tighten standards for food safety, which require new management procedures.
There is no doubt that disease is the number one problem affecting economic viability and long term sustainability of the shrimp farming industry. The farming of shrimp is no different than any other agricultural endeavor. From a management perspective, it is better to prevent deceases rather than try to deal with them once they occur. This is reflected in the use of proactive disease management strategies versus reactive disease management strategies.
The management of disease is the major impediment to a sustainable industry. Enlightened and innovative management strategies, culture practices complemented by the use of few essential tools will play important role in bringing this about : - Awareness of scientific culture practices and avoidance of indiscriminate use of environmental pollutants like antibiotics, chemicals etc.,
