LGW Group came into existence way back in the year 1933, with The trading concern the passage of time graduated from Proprietorship to Partnership to Private Limited Company and on 3rd August, 1984 it assumed the status of a Limited Company to keep pace with the increased business, both in terms of volume and revenues. Infrastructural facilities were created and developed for export of various other items like Chemicals, Engineering goods, Food grains, Textile goods, etc.

In the Early 1990's, Bangladesh became a major exporter of readymade garments and knitted fabrics to the European and American markets by virtue of being a non-quota Country. In the process this resulted in generating huge demand for Indian Cotton Yarn and Fabrics till 2002, which in turn created huge demand for various types of Indian Raw Cotton from 2002 onwards as the raw material to manufacture the Cotton Yarn in Bangladesh. LGW availed both the opportunities to the maximum extent and became the number one Merchant Exporter in India for Cotton yarn in the year 2001 & 2002.
