Dry out of refractories are undertaken in a proper manner as water is the common solvent to mix mortars, rams, castables, cements that is used for installation. To drive out of the lining, this water is hydraulically attached via chemical interactions between varied refractories post-installation or else it causes a serious crack by trapping steam in the lining. During heat-up and before on stream production, the refractory is made moisture-free to deliver excellent performance.

 

General description of the procedure of the dry-out of a refractory lining:

The external high velocity burners are used to dry-out a refractory lining. These external burners are fired with light weight oil or gas and is installed in cracks in manholes and doors.
One burner unit engage the mobile burner with the extended nozzle, the connecting air duct, regulation flap for the combustion air, the combustion fan and the regulation unit. The ambient air is sucked by fans and compresses it up to max. 60 mbar. This air is used for combustion of the burner.
The burner comprises combustion chamber in which the fuel oil and compressed air or gas are blended with combustion air and lit and the steel part (extended nozzle, made of heat resistant steel) which lead the flue gases. These extended nozzle can be straight or with an angle and the end to flue gas to a required direction and crucial parts near to the burner is not “touched” by the flue gases. To compressed ambient air to the burner, the air duct is used. The desired temperature of the outgoing flue gases is managed and achieved by controlling fuel oil with the help of our experts, working on-site. Manually, the flue gas temperature is controlled by controlling oil flow using valve of the oil train. This helps us in achieving desired temperature in accordance with the heating schedule. The maximum temperature reading of thermocouple placed in equipment is reckoned as set temperature.
