PROPERTIES APPLICATIONS: Calcium Stearate is the main stabiliser in the production of non toxic articles e.g. potable water - supply piping. The main property of this, is its internal and external lubricating action, for which it is used in PVC as well as in other plastics processing. It is used as a mould releasing agent also. Calcium Stearate exibits excellent resistance to colour degradation at elevated temperatures and is useful where higher temperatures are encountered during processing.

PROPERTIES APPLICATIONS Di Basic Lead Stearate is a heat stabilizer and a high temperature lubricant for PVC. The free lead oxide content contribute towards better stability and the free fatty acid imparts lubrication. Di Basic Lead Stearate should be used with Tri Basic Lead Stearate and Lead Stearate. Di Basic Lead Stearate is extensively used in cables, PVC processing, rigid extrusion and calendaring operations.

PROPERTIES APPLICATIONS Lead Stearate is a stabiliser for PVC. The lubricating action of Lead Stearate is very important and Lead Stearate can be better described as a lubricant with a stabilisation action. It is therefore recommended that Lead Stearate be used with other stabilisers such as Tri Basic Lead Sulphate or Di Basic Lead Phosphite.

PROPERTIES APPLICATIONS Tri Basic Lead Sulphate is one of the most powerful heat stabilizers and is extensively used for rigid PVC processing, cables, extrusions and calendaring operations etc. Tri Basic Lead Sulphate lacks lubricating properties and hence lubricating stabilizers like Di Basic Lead Stearate, Lead Stearate and/or Calcium Stearate should be used along with it.

PROPERTIES APPLICATIONS Zinc Stearate improves the early colour when used in PVC and additionally gives good lubricating action. When incorporated in PVC, Zinc Stearate is not used alone but principally combined with Calcium stabilizer. Care should be taken not to use too high a dosage of Zinc Stearate, although the early colour improves, the heat stability may decrease. The addition of an epoxy plasticiser will also assist in improving the heat stability.
