As part of SSLA's concept lecture series, 'Between the Line: Interpreting India', Dr. Rajeev Bhargava visited SSLA to conduct a public lecture titled 'Two Concepts of Secularism'. Dr. Bhargava shared his work various concepts of secularism, both global and Indian. He stressed the difference between the models of secularism born in the USA and France and those born in India. The lecture itself was followed by a conversation with Suhas Palshikar, Head of Department of the Department of Politics and Public Administration, University of Pune. The audience too got a few questions in at the end of the session.
Dr. Bhargava is among the leading political theorists in the country and is Director of the Center for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), Delhi.
