Cooling tower is basically a heat and mass transfer process occurs while hot water and incoming air interact with each other. The primary function of cooling tower is that it evaporates the condensed water and exchange the sensible heat. In fact 80% of cooling is done due to evaporation and 20% due to temperature gradient. In industry two types of cooling towers are mainly operated: Mechanical Drift Tower. Atmospheric Spray or Natural Drift. Natural or Atmospheric cooling tower consist of no such fan or motor and operated with a minimum wind velocity of 5 KMPH.
