(D & S) is a progressive & reputed medium scale industry manufacturing a range of sheet metal components and exhaust systems like automotive fuel tanks, surge tanks, oil pans, aluminum storage tanks, etc., for the automotive & non automotive sectors since 1972. We are original Equipment (OE) manufacturers and suppliers of Auxiliary Fuel Tanks, Liquid Storage Tanks, Automotive Fuel Tanks, Aluminum Storage Tanks, Hydraulic Tanks, Vacuum Tanks, Radiator Frames & other assemblies for the entire range of Trucks, MUV's, SUV's and Cars to Tata Motors, (India's largest automobile company and the world's fourth largest Commercial Vehicle manufacturer) and Exhaust systems (mufflers) to Bajaj Auto Ltd., (World's second largest manufacturer of two wheelers). We are also supplying Aluminium and Galvanised Radiator Surge Tanks for M/s Tata Toyo Radiators. We were supplying Exhaust Silencers to Bajaj Auto 2-Wheelers -specially Scooters with conventional Exhaust Systems as well as such assemblies fitted with Catalytic Converters for scooters, motorcycles and mopeds. A Fully integrated modern facility has been setup at Rudrapur,Uttaranchal with heavy Pressing, fabrication and Conveyorised Paint Shop.
Organization and Management
Madhav C Salian is our Chairman and Managing Director. He is the founder of D&S. He was the General Manager (Finance) with M/s Bajaj Auto Ltd.
Samir Salian is a Director. He is an engineer. He is in-charge of Manufacturing and Technology upgradation.
Sandesh Salian is a Director. He is in charge of Finance & Commercial areas. He has completed his MBA from Cardiff Business School, UK with a dissertation in Lean Manufacturing. T V Shenoy is Director (Operations) & CEO
Karunakar G. Shetty is the Vice President (Commercial). He looks after finance function across all plants.
Technology
With over 3 decades of expertise in manufacture of Fuel Tanks, D&S has developed the capabilities to manufacture a variety of components including Radiator Frames, Pressurised tanks for Hydraulic Reservoirs and Radiator Surge Tanks in Galvanised Steel and Aluminium. We have extensive experience in fabricating assemblies in a variety of coated sheets. We partner with Tata Motors for Research & Development. We also have access in Pune to the Automobile Research Association of India 'ARAI'& 'Auto Cluster’ which have state-of-the-art facilities for evaluating, testing, automobile components. We continue to do improvements and modifications for reducing cost and improve productivity.

Press Shop
D & S has a wide range of presses ranging from 10 tons to 630 tons at its plants. The Press Shop also has a die maintenance setup. D & S uses preventive maintenance & first piece inspection to ensure repeatability of its press components. A Heavy Press Shop is now operational at Chakan facility-630 T imported Hydraulic Press, 400 T Double Action Hydraulic Press, 500 T (2Nos.) imported mechanical Presses, with NC shearing machine.
Tool Room
D & S has a modern Tool Room with precise and versatile facilities to design & manufacture Press Tools, Welding Fixtures, Relation Guages etc. It is manned by over 30 skilled personnel. Software such as Unigraphics are deployed for surface modeling and tool path generation. This ensures rapid manufacture and accuracy of tooling & fixtures.
Fabrication Shop
The Fabricating Shop is well equipped with State-of-the Art facilities for Seam Welding, Spot Welding, MIG/MAG Welding, Gas Welding, TIG Welding, AC/DC TIG Welding.
Paint Shops & Powder Coating
D & S, Chinchwad has an excellent paint facility. The Paint Shop is conveyorised with a twin bake facility. Electrostatic painting facility is available to carryout uniform coating of complex assemblies. In addition Heat Resistant Painting facilities are also available. D & S has a well equipped Laboratory comprising Salt Spray Chamber, Hardness Tester, Cross Cut Tester & Digital DFT Meters.An updated Effluent treatment plant treats process water to ensure a Cleaner & Greener tomorrow. A similar facility has been setup at Uttaranchal. A Conveyorised Powder Coating facility has been setup at ourChakan Plant.

Production Capacity
The current installed production capacity of Dali & Samir at their plant in Chinchwad is to the tune of over 2000 fuel tanks/day and 1000 exhaust systems/day on a two-shift basis. This translates into a achievable volume of 600,000 fuel tanks per annum and 3,00,000 silencers per annum. In addition a new plant in Chakan is in operation which has a capacity of 800 Fuel Tanks per day. The Rudrapur (Uttarakhand) plant has a capacity of 1000 Tanks and other parts per day.
Quality
We have been awarded ISO TS 16949:2002 certification. Our goods are Self Certified for TATA MOTORS as well as Bajaj Auto, and are Directly Supplied to their lines on a J.I.T. basis. D & S has received recognition from the industry through ACMA''s Quality Award.
Future plans
We are in the process of Upgrading and Modernising our manufacturing facilities. Looking at the emerging market scenario, we want to enhance our core competency in 'Fabrication' of Sophisticated engineering products, especially in the Automotive area. We are exploring possibilities of a collaboration where we plan to bring in the latest Technology for setting up the factory, design, manufacture of assemblies for the domestic vehicle manufacturers of two/three/four wheelers. D&S plans to Certify to ISO 14001 in future.

We are implementing system like, Kaizen and lean manufacture to enhance value to our products. We are an 'A' Grade supplier to Bajaj Auto. Our goods are Self Certified for Bajaj Auto as well as Tata Motors. Our goods are Directly Supplied to their lines on a J.I.T. basis. We are Single Source Suppliers for most of our products to Bajaj Auto as well as Tata Motors.
Our sincere and continuous efforts in the field of quality management are recognised by the Component Industry through "Quality Award" for the year 2000-2001 in Small Industry category instituted by Automotive Component Manufacturer Association of india (ACMA), comprising of members engaged in manufacturing components required by the Automobile Industry.
Infrastructure
Fabrication shop: D&S has a completely equipped Fabrication Shop with an entire range of resistance Welding machines including Spot welding machines and Seam Welding Machines. D&S also has a variety of M.I.G. / M.A.G. as well as A.C / D.C. Tig welding machines. D&S also uses Special Purpose welding machines to maintain high quality standards and large volumes.
