The high wear-resistance of polycrystalline diamond dies gives high efficiency and less downtime, as you can draw more kilograms of wire before you need to re-cut the die. Because the wear on the die is even and predictable, you know exactly when the die needs to be re-cut, minimizing costly scrap and maximizing product quality. These dies work best with nonferrous wire, including copper, aluminum, and stainless steel.

Natural diamond die produce the finest quality wire and are the most expensive. The core of a natural diamond die is made using industrial grade diamond stones that are mined from the earth. Each stone is selected, cut and sorted into a workable size.
Natural diamond dies are mostly used for final sizes and for producing very fine wires. They are also used for producing wires of excellent surface finish.
The downside with natural diamond dies is that they wear unevenly and this has an adverse effect on the useful life of the die. The uneven wear is because of undetectable defects in the natural diamond stone.

Tungsten carbide is a chemical compound containing tungsten and carbon. Tungsten carbide dies are a cheaper alternative to diamond and PCD dies and are often used for drawing wires from tough materials, such as carbon steel or stainless steel. Sometimes, carbide will leave a better finish on parts of a wire. We manufacture tungsten carbide dies in different shapes, like triangular, square, trapezium, hexagonal, octagonal, semicircle, stripped, flat, etc.

We use nibs made of high quality tungsten carbide and armored into steel cases. The die nibs are therefore of high hardness, provide good heat conduction, produce low friction, and have good corrosion resistance. Tungsten carbide dies are less expensive, but wear out quickly and loose size, therefore giving a shorter die life.
