The word of ayurveda is composed of two Sanskrit terms viz. ?Ayu? meaning ?Life? and ?Veda? meaning ?The knowledge?. Therefore Ayurveda means. ?The knowledge of life? OR ?The science of life?.

Besides, the unique features are (a) Economy of the medicine (b) No foreign exchanged involved, since almost all Ayurvedic Drugs which include vegetable, metals, minerals, and animal products are available in India. (c) It is conductive to socialistic patterns of society. (d) Free from toxicity, in patient they cure diseases and healthy individuals.
