The Drishteehaat system of promoting and selling rural Indian artworks enables the average rural Indian artist to earn a real profit, as well as act as a catalyst in developing rural India and providing a good standard of living to the people with their own efforts. The benefits for a buyer while purchasing from Drishteehaat is the assurance of authenticity of the art being purchased belonging to rural India. A buyer not only buys the product but also provides a viable source of income to the villagers helping them to bring out a rare form of art which was at some time ago forgotten by the people. Drishteehaat provides a buyer a safe and secure gateway of payment, assurance of highest quality of products, and the assurance of artisans getting a fair share worth for their arts and crafts. Aim / Vision / MissionMission Leveraging the skills and cultural trades of rural producers to craft local livelihoods by facilitating the flow of global market information and business opportunities to village economies Drishteehaat acts as an online platform where rural producers can price, upload and sell their own products to consumers from across the globe. The trading arm of Quiver Infoservices Ltd, seeks to provide a world outlet for rural producers (Drishteehaat), while also supplying crucial market and costing information that is necessary to build their capacity and understanding of fair wages and trading activity while remaining competitive in design and pricing in the international arena.
Team / ManpowerPankaj Kumar… is the Assistant Manager of Logistics with Drishtee haat, and is looking after all backend logistics and inventory for the project. Pankaj holds a degree in Business Management, as well as a post graduate degree in International Business, and is currently the longest standing Drishtee haat Team member. His command of native languages from the northern regions of India, render him a valuable asset to the project and the building of strong relationships with rural producers that is necessary for Drishtee haat’s network expansion and overall sustainability. Pankaj’s affection for his work and love of communication with villagers in the field makes him a very dedicated and invaluable team member on the project. Emily Rasmussen… moved to India and joined Quiver Infoservices Ltd. in 2007 as a member of the Microfinance team. In late 2007 she shifted to the Drishtee haat Team where a new vision and leadership were needed to take the project forward. Emily has been managing Drishtee haat ever since, and is constantly inspired and excited by the many opportunities that Drishtee haat is able to provide, - and many more that the project is working toward - to artisans, designers and other socially-minded individuals and organizations operating in the Gifts & Handicrafts sector of India, as well as the socially conscious consumers across the globe who are looking to make the world a little better, and a little fairer with every purchase that they make.
