Sodium Sulphite

We are instrumental in processing, supplying and exporting sodium sulphite, available in sodium sulphite anhydrous photo grade and sodium sulphite technical grade. Formulated from superior quality materials, it is used as a preservative for meats and fruits, to prevent discoloration. It is also used as a sodium thiosulfate to change the elemental halides into particular acids that is used in photography.

Sodium Sulphite Anhydrous Photo Grade

Sodium sulfite is a white or pale yellowish, odorless micro crystalline powder. The apparent density is 1400 –1600 kg/m3
Sodium sulfite slowly absorbs water on storage in closed containers. This is associated with oxidation to form sodium sulfate.
The absorption of water is accompanied by formation of more or less hard agglomerates.
Sodium sulfite is readily soluble in water
The solutions show an alkaline reaction
Exposure to air results in rapid formation of sodium sulfate
