About UsSince its inception in the year 1980, Duratex has been engaged in the manufacture of shirtings, dress materials and most recently, ready-to-wear garments. Of the six manufacturing units Duratex owns, five are located in the industrial area of Tarapur, which is in the vicinity of Mumbai, the commercial and industrial capital of India, while the sixth unit is located in Bhiwandi. All six units operate to 80% of the capacity in order to yield maximum efficiency by the way of regular maintenance. The manufacturing units are equipped with modern, imported state-of-the-art machinery.
Mr. Durgaprasad Agarwal is at the helm of the company's operations and is ably assisted by associate directors, namely Mr. Narendra Agarwal and Mr. Sanjay Agarwal. The management team is well supported by a competent workforce comprising Marketing, Administration and well-qualified Technical Consultants.
The company's outstanding growth is evident from its annual turnover which rose from approximately Rs.108 million (US$ # million) in the year 1997-98, to approximately Rs.290 million (US$ # million) in the last financial year 2004-05 - a substantial increase of 168.51% in just 8 years.
Having established its presence in the local and domestic markets, the company is now on track to make their presence in the international market. A proposed project at Tarapur to set up a garment manufacturing unit by the end of 2007 is intended to initiate the expansion plans of the company. Quality Policy / ProcessesDuratex has always emphasized on quality. No compromise is made on the quality of the fabric as well as garments and hence, the fabric and garments pass through strict quality assurance system which ensures an output of finest quality of garments.
Fabric checking machine is installed and a “4 point” system is also followed for fabric inspection. For in-line and the final inspection of the garments, “AQL 2.5” system is followed.
