The apparatus comprises of the following :

Loading Unit : Supplied with loading yoke with direct and lever for applying load. Normal stress capacity 8Kg/Sq.cm. Load is applied either directly or through a counter balanced detachable lever. Provision is made for the load to be applied either through a steel ball recessed in the loading pad or direct through a  boss on the pre calibrated loading. yoke. The loading unit is  provided with V strips and roller strips for frictionless movement of shear box housing.

Consists of loading unit, shear box assembly for 60 mm x 60 mm x 25 mm complete with two halves of loading pad, one base plate. All made of gunmetal with two porous stones. Share box housing of gunmetal, specimen Cutter of steel with set of weight to give normal stress of 3 kg/cm2. through lever as follows.

Multiple reversal type, Motorised, Single speed , electrically operated to give a single constant rate of strain of 1.25mm/min. Suitable for 230v. A.C. Without dial gauge and proving ring. AS PER IS:2720 (PART VIII)

Unit is electrically operated to give the following 12 rates of strains. 1.25, 0.625, 0.125, 0.05, 0.01, 0.005, 0.002, 0.001, 0.0004 and 0.0002mm/min. The apparatus is suitable for operation on 230 volts single phase A.C. supply. Without dial gauge and proving ring.

OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES:

·        High sensitivity proving ring 200 kg. fitted with 0.002 mm dial gauge with our calibration certificate in a case.

It will consist of metallic cone with half angle of 15' -30 ±15' and 30.50mm coned length. It will be fixed at the end of a metallic rod with a disc at the top of the rod so as to have a total sliding weight of 148± 0.5 gms. The total rod shall pass through two guides. (to ensure vertical movement) fixed to a stand. Suitable provision will be made for clamping the vertical rod at any desired height above the surface of the paste in the trough. A brass trough 50 mm internal diameter and 50 mm depth will be provided as per IS specification resting on M.S.bars.

Ground Glass : 10mm thick and about 45 cm square or larger rough glass as per IS 2720(Part V-1985) for mixing soil and water

Spatula : Flexible with blade about 8 cm long and 2 cm wide made from stainless steel material as  per IS:2720 (part V-1985)

Evaporating dish : Made from porcelain material having diameter of about 12 to 15 cm with smooth surface as per  IS:2720 (part V-1985)
