Vibrators can be mounted on concrete hoppers, providing a heavy steel liner is used. The liner should extend from the discharge opening of the entire side to which the vibrator is to be mounted. The liner should be held down fast and rest on longitudinal ribs welded along the edge of the plate close enough, so material will not be able to seep underneath. At about 1/4 or less of the distance from the discharge to the top of the sloping side a hole should be cut large enough to allow the Vibrator to be mounted directly to the steel liner. Mount same as on steel hopper.

The "ELEKTROMAG" Thrustor is a device which converts electrical energy into linear mechanical force by its smooth, gental thrust.

The high efficiency off these thrustors make them ideal for a wide variety of general industrial applications such as brakes, thrust motions is machine tools,shutter damper operations, safety devices, actuation of levers, closing the electrodes of spot welding machines, for power processes, operating sliding doors, latches, hopper gates, control valves, transfer mechanisms of conveyors etc.The thrustors enable easy installation as they have only to be electrically connected. The thrustors are particularly adapted for those applications where they are to be frequently operated and are unaffected by these heavy duties because of their robust construction and dust exclusion seals for use in dusty atmospheres. The thrustors economise on muscular effort while saving time, money and labour.

The Electro Hydraulic Thrustor consists of a cylinder filled with oil and having a centrifugal pump at the bottom of the cylinder. The centrifugal pump is driven by a 3 phase fractional horse power class `B' insulated, continuously rated rotor and stator. The specially designed radial impeller permits operation of the pump in either direction of rotation. The rotor and stator is mounted on top of the oil cylinder. The Thrustor is suitable for 720 switching operations per hour. Thrustors confirming to IP-55 and adjustable time lag on both up and down stroke can be supplied at extra cost.

Inclined chutes not steep enough to produce an easy flow of material, are benefited by the use of Vibrator. One Vibrator usually will handle a 10" to 14" length.

The unit should be mounted below the centre, so the lower portion receives the most provision for slight adjustment in both direction, for many times a slight position change will greatly enhance vibration efficiency.

On tubular chutes, the vibrator should be mounted to a flat or channel-shaped plate which in turn, is clamped to the chute by means of "U" bolts.

When using more than on Vibrator on along chutes, mount the first one within 2' of the discharge, the next halfway between first Vibrator and upper end of chute.

What would you do if you had to move a heavy load across your factory? What if your factory was outdoors? What if the load was fragile? What would happen if the load fell?

The most common methods of moving heavy loads across factory floors are cranes, trolleys, belt conveyors, roller conveyors etc. All these methods have their uses - however cranes require that the infrastructure be forced to support the load and in many cases electric power; trolleys on the other hand are economical - the flooring however must be built so as to support the weight of the load. Some trolleys need rails, loading and unloading docks, and other infrastructure. Belt and Roller conveyors are directional.

In the above cases you either have to build support columns and beams to carry the weight of the load or set up a system of trolleys, rails, rollers etc..

Advances in material sciences have now made possible a safer, more reliable, and cheaper method of moving heavy loads - air ! Yes, air! Loads that are fragile wont break, the load cannot fall, and if you lost power the worst that will happen is that the load will "stay put".

All one needs to do to move a heavy load is put it on an cushion of air (called an air cushion - how simple!) - like a hovercraft. The reduced friction allows one to move a 1 Ton load with approximately 1 Kg of force. Remember however, that one still has inertia to work against.

The types BA 18 and BA 25 are recommended for those applications where it is ensured that there is no long-term temperature exceeding 100 degree centigrade in the immediate vicinity of the wiper. On account of their small dimensions, they are particularly suited for attachment to guideways which will be equipped additionally with telescopic steel guards, or a concertina type protection, or an articulated apron.

The types BAS 18, BAS 25 and BAS 40 are characterized by a lip protection. They are to be used with preference where the wiper is exposed to direct contact with the falling chips.

Different height dimensions of the light-metal supports make it possible to exchange our wipers against any commercial makes in the market. Attachment can be made with screws upto size M6, without the necessity to have the screw-heads countersunk.

Wooden hoppers do not respond to vibration nearly as well as metal hoppers. Vibration cannot be transmitted around corners to other side or to as great distance. If construction is of planking supported on joists, then same instructions apply as for steel hoppers. Bolt direct to planking and make sure you use a large enough unit. If wooden hopper is lined with metal plate (as with concrete hopper) the Vibrator will be mounted on stilts going through the plate but clearing the wooden planking.

Among the most versatile forms of conveyors are the Helical Conveyors. They consist of an upright tube around which winds a conveying-path, the cross-section of which can be rectangular or round. They are made of Mild Steel or Stainless Steel. According to the spiral-like arrangement of the conveying path, a long effective distance is acheived. They are driven by electromagnetic or unbalance motors which are mounted in diametrical positions and at a certain angle either at the bottom or at the top of the tube. They produce torsional vibrations. By Micro-projectile movements on the whole conveying path, the product is induced to make its way steadily upwards. According to capacities required, the helical conveyors can be built upto a height of 6 metres. They can be equipped with double conveying paths, so that it will be possible to trnsport two different products at the same time. Depending on the bulk material delivery flows upto 20 M3/h can be acheived.

ELEKTROMAG" Stall Torque Motors are used for applications where motors need to be continuously energised at standstill and still provide constant torque e.g. Reeling Drums for cables, hoses, wire ropes etc.

SQUIRREL CAGE Stall Torque Motors are used in applications which involve small payout of cables/hoses.

SLIPRING Stall Torque Motors are used for applications where high thermal losses associated can be dissipated in the externally connected resistances. In addition these have the advantage of possible speed control by switching in and out differing resistance values. Higher torques can be achieved with intermittent duty or with external ventilation.

"ELEKTROMAG" Stall Torque Motors have builtin disc brakes which eliminate the problems of dust clogging encountered in conical brakes.

The motors can be supplied for an operating voltage of 415V/240V 50c/s supply and for ambient temperature upto 60ºC .

These motors can be supplied for horizontal mounting, base mounted (B3 construction) or flange mounted (B5 construction) depending on requirement.

The motors are rated for continuous duty. The motors conform to IP55 protection and are class 'F' insulated.

Small parts conveyors are vibrating conveyors used for discharging, conveying, feeding, dosing and distributing fine-grained bulk materials and large quantities of relatively small parts. Elektromag has been manufacturing these conveyors over the years and leads the field in India.

They are used in many branches of industry, for example in the chemical and synthetic materials industries, food processing, sand, gravel and stone quarries, for small parts assembly mechanisms, in the foodstuffs and luxury food sectors, paper making industry, and in sugar refineries, oil refineries and foundries.
The compact small parts conveyor drives are available in a range of sizes and can be fitted with attachments such as troughs, tubes or rails.

DC Contactors

Contactors with rating from 15 Amps to 1500 Amps are available in four
basic types, viz.,Single pole, Double Pole, Triple Pole, and Four Pole
with main contacts open or closed or a mixture of both, as per clients
specification.

Operating coil is 'B' class insulated, D.C. energised working on 2200 Volts
D.C. Other operating voltages can be offered on request. Contactors can also
be offered with a rectifier bridge to take direct supply from an AC source.

The contactor will operate satisfactory on 80% of normal voltage when the
coil is hot and will hold in on 200% of normal voltage. The coil will
withstand 110% of the normal voltage continuously.

Arc chutes are made from special heat resistant material such as syndyano
and are hinged so that they can be lifted for inspection or replacement of
contacts. In the lifted position the arc chutes are self supporting.

Two or more Singal Pole contactors, mounted on a singal base can be
mechanically interlocked in a simple but efficient manner to operate as a
multi-pole contactor. Shaft mounted multi-pole contactors can also be supplied.

A wide range of electrical interlocks by means of Auxiliary Contacts is
available on request at extra price.

Three sizes of stainless feed hoppers are available to suit the range of different small parts conveyors. The volume of the hopper and the diameter of the discharge outlet are determined by the width of the standard trough used. The feed hoppers are adjustable for height and are attached to a special frame. The base-plate of the frame supports the small parts conveyors, thereby forming a single unit (fig. 3). The vertical adjustments makes it easy to regulate the layer height in the trough, which in turn controls the delivery flow. If required, the feed hopper can be supplied with a viabrator which causes the material being conveyed to discharge more easily.

ELEKTROMAG" Electro magnetic Clutches are uses are used where frequent load cycling takes place. Where a motor must be accelerated and decelerated, there is motor heating which reduces the motor life. By installing a Clutch the motor can be operated at its normal speed and the load can be cycled by engaging and disengaging the clutch.

Where rapid cycling is involved, the load requires that the inertia of the system must be overcome. In a directly connected system, motor inertia delays the response of the system. With a clutch installed, only clutch inertia has to be overcome which is considerably lower as compared to that of the motor.

The clutches are ideal for jogging applications as motor tend to get overheated due to frequent stopping and starting to inch a load into position. The Clutch enables the motor to run continuously at constant speed and the clutch can be engaged and disengaged to jog the load. Where a load has to be stopped, one member of the clutch can be kept fixed and the clutch works as a brake to stop the load from rotating on its own inertia. Indexing and positioning is made possible by using a clutch and brake. A clutch enables the load to be brought to position and stopped in that position by means of a brake.
