Eliokem was born in 2001 but conceived more than 40 years ago when Goodyear Chemical Division set up a polymer plant in the petrochemical complex and port Le Havre, France on the promise of the industrial development of a Europe ready to form the European Community. The company also developed specialty chemicals know-how in its Akron factory in Ohio, USA. Both production sites contributed to the development of Goodyear Chemical “specialties business”, that since 2001 belongs to Eliokem.

Eliokem owns a large portfolio of polymers & chemicals (specialty resins, elastomeric modifiers, antioxidants, rubber and rubber reinforcing resins and latices) which are used in a broad range of applications and industries : paints and coatings, electrographic toners, oil field systems, thermoplastic compounds and TPE, rubber and latex compounds, stabilization of polymers and latex, rubber and plastic compounds, dipped tire cord and other textile-to-rubber composites, adhesives and friction materials.

Today:

Eliokem is headquartered in Villejust, France (25km outside Paris). The company has four modern manufacturing facilities and four state-of-the art technology centers in France, USA, China and India to ensure customer technical service, product developments and innovation. Eliokem is certified ISO 9001 : 2000 for its Quality Management System.

The LE HAVRE PLANT (France) is ideally located near one of the main European ports. The port of Le Havre is located on the world's busiest sea trade route and is linked by motorway to Paris and the rest of Europe by daily air services to London, Amsterdam and Brussels - an additional advantage for our many visitors. This convenient location provides unrivalled advantages for the group's logistic department which is also located on the site:

• The proximity of the port, with regular sailings for the United States and the Far East, enables a flexible delivery service for these far-off customers
• The road infrastructure, which is still being extended, enables very fast delivery to European customers

Our logistic department has a close relation with a number of efficient haulage companies who provide a high level of service to match the high performance of the products. Eliokem places great emphasis on exports and markets its goods in all five continents. We have experience in 90 different countries and have a close relationship with our agents, enabling us to work with our customers to provide logistic services to suit their requirements. Finally, we keep in close contact with official organizations to monitor regulations to ensure that we always conform to the requirements of the countries to which we dispatch our products.

The company's approach has always been to develop an in-depth understanding of the technologies and markets in which it operates. This in-depth understanding enables the organization to provide a complete service to customers from initial product concept through to final product launch and beyond.
