The PORTATEST is a fully automatic tester for determination of the dielectric breakdown voltage of insulating liquid. It has been designed for laboratory use as well as for field use for service and commissioning. The PORTATEST is very comfortable and easy in use. The requested testing standard may be selected via menu. The corresponding electrode type as well as the electrode spacing will be displayed for confirmation before starting the test.
After placing the test vessel with the oil sample into the test chamber, the protection lid needs to be closed. For maximum operator security the protection lid is equipped with a security interlock key switching off the HV when opened during testing. When starting the test, sample temperature as well as a customer specific sample number may be entered and will than be integrated to the test report printout. The testing sequence according to the selected testing standard is performed fully automatically.
Common test sequences for national and international standards are stored in the oil tester. In addition, the operator can define and store up to 10 freely programmable test sequences. Every oil sample is either automatically marked with a serial number or with a number entered by the operator. After the test a detailed test report is printed on the builtin printer. In addition to the standard used for the test, the print-out contains date, time, sample number, individual breakdown values, average value and standard deviation.
The last 20 test reports will be stored in the tester for later recall or printout.
Additionally test results can be transmitted to a PC using the optionally available Windows program PrintCom. With PrintCom test results can be stored on a PC and test reports may be printed on the connected office printer. PrintCom stores the results in EXCEL® format. The operator may configure an own suitable EXCEL® form. It is very simple to create user-defined test protocols.

    Description

    CAT60 is based on state of the art technology, using the most advanced switch mode technique available today. CAT60 is a digital instrument for condition assessment of circuit breakers. It measures timing and records graphs of coil currents and displacements of moving parts of a circuit breaker. Two contacts per phase are measured and recorded plus additional auxiliary contacts. CATWin software provides full control of all CAT60 functions over PC and monitoring of test results.

    The AWA predictive maintenance solution from Baker Instrument Company offers flexibility in providing fault recognition in one  instrument. The AWAIV integrates a wide range of electrical tests with the quality of a Baker. This instrument supports common electric tests in a single field portable unit including Surge, DC HiPot, Step Voltage, Continuous Ramp, Meg-ohm and Winding Resistance. This instrument complies to IEEE recommendations.
    -- Improved testing capabilities from previous versions: Continuous Ramped HiPot, enhanced reference Surge waveform, improved PI/DA test, improved DC HiPot, improved Resistance test, more sensitive Surge test.
    -- The AWA IV has been designed around PC104 technology. This allows the instrument to work efficiently without fans to cool the processor. The computer performs all requested tests, stores the results, and continuously monitors voltage levels while testing. If the computer detects a weakness in the insulation, the test is interrupted, the operator is alerted, and all test parameters at the time of the interruption are reported. This instrument performs this operation in microseconds with a higher degree of precision and safety than can be achieved through manual testing.
    -- The AWAIV is the only high-voltage tester that can be pre-programmed in the office and implemented in the field. Pre-built work orders or routes define which motors to test, the order of execution, and parameters for each test including voltages, duration and pass-fail limits. Operators can then conduct tests in the field simply by connecting to the pre-programmed motor, providing a higher degree of reliability in testing procedures. This allows repeatable maintenance testing, which is vital to a successful PM program.
    -- When testing is complete, results can be saved as part of each motor's permanent test record. This type of documentation is critical to successful reliability programs. With the AWAIV, test results are collected, stored, recalled and managed using standard a MS Access® relational database format. Reports can be generated for trending, insurance requirements for customers through the AWA software or MS Word® file formats. The AWA outputs .rtf type files, so desktop computers with many word publishing software programs can be utilized. These database files make it easy to transfer information to maintenance management software or other database tools and Access® is ODBC compliant.

  • The Baker AWAIV incorporates advanced inter-turn capabilities in a field portable instrument. Computer control and waveform monitoring are enhancements above manually controlled instruments. As with the DC HiPot test, the AWAIV begins surge generation at low voltage. Each pulse applied to the winding is digitized and the resultant waveform is compared to previous waveforms to detect any signs of turn-to-turn weaknesses. Comparison is done by the patented Pulse to Pulse Error Area Ration (PP-EAR) technique. This method is sensitive to less than a 1% variance between coils. In addition, shorts among windings in parallel can be located, something that was never possible before by visually comparing waveforms. With the AWAIV, fewer pulses are applied to the winding, reducing the power required to perform the surge test. Since each and every pulse is analyzed, it becomes the new reference waveform as test voltage is increased up to the specific withstand level. If no turn-to-turn weakness is detected, the final pulse waveform is stored as the reference waveform for all subsequent tests.

    Description

    The Winding Ohmmeter & Tap Changer Test Set RMO10T is designed for resistance measurement of inductive test objects. RMO10T generates true DC ripple free current. Both injection of current and discharge of energy from the inductance are automatically regulated.
    RMO10T injects current with a voltage as high as 60 V. This ensures that the duration of test is as short as possible, and that the desired test current is reached faster. Two independent channels enable testing of two series windings, or primary and secondary windings. There is enough memory within RMO10T instrument to store 500 measurements. All measurements are time and date stamped.
    The set is equipped with thermal and overcurrent protection. The RMO10T has very high ability to cancel electrostatic and electromagnetic interference in HV electric fields. It is achieved by very efficient filtration. The filtration is made utilizing proprietary hardware and software.

    On Load Tap Changers

    The RMO10T can be used to measure winding resistance of individual taps of a power transformer’s tap changer. It can also check whether the on-load tap changer (OLTC) switches without an interruption. The moment a tap position is changed from one tap to another, the device detects a sudden, very short drop of the current. A properly working tap changer differs from a malfunctioning one. This is obvious from an interruption during the change, by the magnitude of the current ripple and also by the transition time. Malfunctioning behaviour of Tap Changer will result in much higher current ripple value and by changed transition time than a properly functioning Tap Changer.

    DV-Win

    Using DV-Win software, tests could be performed from a PC, and results can be obtained directly at a PC. The DV-Win software allows results to be arranged in an Excel spreadsheet, which can be shown later as a diagram and printed for a report, or ASCII format. This software can control the RMO-T instrument, allowing a condition assessment of OLTC (tap changer) analyzing the graph which represents dynamic resistance during the tap change. Using DV-Win and RMO10T it is possible to perform heat run test on distribution and power transformers.

    The MAR-715L network power analyzer is fully programmable measuring instrument that measure and record in memory all the electrical parameters from any electric power system. This instrument is equipped with four voltage inputs and other four current inputs to carry out the measurement of any parameter from either balanced or unbalanced three-phase power systems.

    Instantaneous readouts are displayed by a 160 x 160 pixels graphic screen, and, simultaneously, these results can be saved in an internal memory according to preset file types. That way, records can include average, maximum and minimum values of voltages, currents and powers, but also wave form snapshots, values of accumulated energy, disturbances, etc.).

    The MAR-715L is also a re-programmable instrument, so that, by means of an external cartridge connected to the built-in communication output, diverse operation programs can be loaded or updated in order to accomplish any analysis involving the control of electric power or the quality of distribution systems.

    Several operation programs are presently available the MAR-715L, which can be indistinctly selected when the instrument is turn on. Each program permits a periodical record in memory of some parameters, just continuously along the time or by predefined trigger conditions. All the setting process is done by means of intuitive menus shown on the instrument screen.

    STANDARD OPERATION PROGRAM, ENERGY:
    Basic program that permits to measure voltages, currents, powers and energies to save in memory the results over regularly recording periods  at user-defined time intervals of data files,  that contain average values, maximum and minimum values, etc. This files can be further managed in a PC by means of the VISUAL software.

    When the MAR-715L is loaded with this program, the analyzer permits to effectuate detailed analysis on power factor correction, electric power consumption; and to obtain graphs of average, maximum and minimum values of 20 discrete basic electrical parameters.
