EMU
Emu is a large native Australian bird that cannot fly. Similar in appearance to the Ostrich, Emu is of the same family as the African Ostrich and South American Rhea. They have grey-brown feathers, pale-blue neck & face, long powerful legs and three toes. It is also world''s third largest living bird. Description An average adult male Emu is: - Between 1.5-2 meter tall
- Weighs between 35 and 50 kilograms

The Industry Emu Industry can be divided in 2 categories: Emu farming:Here farmers raise Emu birds for breeding them & then selling the chicks in the market to new farmers or commercial Emu farmers. Commercial EMU Farming:In Commercial EMU farming, farmer raises Emu birds till age of 12-15 months and then slaughters them for meat, oil, skin, feathers, toe nails. These products are then processed and marketed to the users. The main objective of commercial Emu farming is to extract oil from fat of the bird, process it & then sell it.
