ISO-TS 16949 is an ISO Technical Specification, which aligns the automotive quality system requirements within the global automotive industry. In conjunction with ISO 9001:2000, ISO/TS 16949:2002 specifies the quality management system requirements for the automotive suppliers under new process approach of the standard laying an emphasis on continual improvements. ISO/TS 16949 has been written by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and Japan Automobile Manufacturers Associations (JAMA) with a support from ISO’s technical committee for Quality Management & Quality Assurance, ISO/TC 176. Along with customer specific requirements, ISO/TS 16949, as a single harmonized standard, satisfies the requirements of the following automotive quality systems standards: • QS-9000 (American), • VDA 6.1 (German), • AVSQ (Italian) and • EAQF (French). The major benefits of the standard are that the suppliers that provide automotive products to international markets have the option of maintaining one quality system registration to meet multiple customer quality requirements. In addition to avoiding multiple certification audits, ISO/TS 16949 has been designed to improve product and process quality while increasing efficiency and reducing variation. For the implementation of this specification, the supplier is required to develop a Quality Manual, Procedures, Work Instructions and other documents in line with the requirements. A supplier who has already implemented an ISO 9000 based quality system can add on the additional requirements to its existing documentation in order to achieve compliance. QPG, the parent organization of E&E delivers a comprehensive consultancy package for implementing this standard. The services are delivered by our experts through a well designed modular approach till certification. Post certification help in maintaining and improving the system is also available. |
ISO 9000 standards are widely used across the world for creating & maintaining effective & efficient Quality Management Systems (QMS) in organizations. These standards are generic in nature & can be applied to any type or size of the organizations. Whether it is an engineering industry, a chemical industry, or a service industry, these standards can be applied & used. These can work in very small organizations employing just five people or these can be used in much larger companies having more than say, 5000 employees. The basic premise of ISO 9001:2000 is that thoughtfully designed systems can produce excellent results in terms of product and service quality, customer satisfaction & improved business results. The implementation of well-designed QMS will result in the following benefits: • Confidence to all - Self, customers, suppliers and management • Defect prevention approach reduces rejections, wastes and complaints • Achieves & ensures consistent quality as per customer requirements • Documentation provides transparency to the system • Prevents re-invention of the wheel • Increases staff motivation & commitment • Quality Improvement becomes an on-going process • International recognition through certification QPG, the parent organization of E&E delivers a comprehensive consultancy package for implementing this standard. As a continuation of ISO 9000 standardization process, the ISO 14000 series of international standards have been developed for incorporating environmental aspects into operations and product standards. The ISO14001 standard specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy, determining environmental aspects & impacts of products/activities/services, planning environmental objectives and measurable targets, implementation & operation of programs to meet objectives & targets, checking & corrective action, and management review. The companies are adopting this standard to improve their operational efficiencies, reduce risks arising from environmental non-compliance & emergencies and remain competitive. Apart from this, ISO 14001 enables organizations to demonstrate their commitment to social responsibility as well as improves their corporate image of being an environmentally responsible entity. Many customers are also insisting their suppliers to be compliant to this standard before entering into any business agreements with them. QPG, the parent organization of E&E delivers a comprehensive consultancy package for implementing this standard. The services are delivered by our experts through a well designed modular approach till certification. Post certification help in maintaining and improving the system is also available. |
Integrated means combined; putting all the internal management practices into one system but not as separate components. For these systems to be an integral part of the company's management system there have to be linkages so that the boundaries between processes are seamless. We specialize in providing consultancy to client organizations in the certification of their systems to an Integrated Management System (IMS). An IMS will consist of any two or more international standards on management systems like ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, etc. An integrated management system can result in certification to PAS 99 (a publically available standard on IMS) in addition to certifications to the individual International standards adopted. Benefits of Integration -There are several good reasons for integration, to: • reduce duplication and therefore costs • reduce risks and increase profitability • balance conflicting objectives • eliminate conflicting responsibilities and relationships • diffuse the power system • turn the focus onto business goals • formalise informal systems • harmonise and optimise practices • create consistency • improve communication • facilitate training and development |

Social Accountability 8000 (SA8000), published by Social Accountability Institute, USA is a workplace standard that covers all key labor rights and certifies compliance through independent, accredited auditors. This standard harmonizes the various workplace codes of conduct published by different US & Western European companies. The standard, and its verification system is based on the popular quality standard, ISO 9000 and add several elements that international human rights experts have identified as essential to social auditing. The techniques prescribed in the standard not only help employers develop effective management systems with the potential to reduce the risk of accidents and improve productivity, but also create a competitive asset for them in terms of their reputation for social accountability. SA8000’s acceptance is growing because companies recognize the benefits of this system, both to workers and to management. A growing number of companies are currently assessing their suppliers’ compliance with SA8000 and others are listing it as an alternative to the company code of conduct. The preparation process for SA8000 is quite similar to the ISO 9000 certification process. You need to identify the gaps in your management systems with respect to the nine social accountability requirements of the standard, plan for its documentation & implementation including training of your employees, conduct of internal audits & take corrective & preventive action on non-compliance. QPG, the parent organization of E&E delivers a comprehensive consultancy package for implementing this standard. The services are delivered by our experts through a well designed modular approach till certification. Post certification help in maintaining and improving the system is also available. |
