ISO-TS 16949 is an ISO Technical Specification, which aligns the automotive quality system requirements within the global automotive industry. In conjunction with ISO 9001:2000, ISO/TS 16949:2002 specifies the quality management system requirements for the automotive suppliers under new process approach of the standard laying an emphasis on continual improvements. ISO/TS 16949 has been written by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and Japan Automobile Manufacturers Associations (JAMA) with a support from ISO’s technical committee for Quality Management & Quality Assurance, ISO/TC 176.
