Centre Drive and End Drive Clarifiers /Thickeners are used for chemical effluents, metallurgical processing and industrial processing where the separation of solids from liquids is required. Efficient separation of suspended solids or sedimentation is an important and integral aspect in effluent treatment, as it not only minimizes suspended solids loading, but also helps in reducing the COD/BOD loading, thus contributing towards reducing the sizing of subsequent processes viz. that of Biological treatments.

Thus, Clarification/Sedimentation, the process to remove suspended solids, is economical and has become an essential part of effluent treatment plants and raw water treatment plants. With this, suspended solids removal upto 70% and settleable solids removal upto 90% to 98% and COD removal as high as up to 40% can be done with proper design of the clarifier unit.

The process is purely of gravity-separation. This is achieved by the reduction in velocity of the fluid and nearly 180o change in the direction of the flow. The separate solids would flow downward and settle on tapered floor.

The slow moving scraper mechanism having scraper arms with neoprene rubber/PP/HDPE/Brass squeegees, scrapes the floor and brings the settled sludge (suspended solids) to the central sludge well. The velocity or the movement of scraper arms, squeegees is designed in such a way that the sedimentation process is not distributed at all.

We manufacture two types of the clarifier mechanisms that are as follow:

• End Drive/Traction Drive type Clarifier with central RCC column for support
• Center-Drive Clarifier

Clariflocculators are generally used for chemical primary treatment for effluent. Instead of separate flocculation and clarification, clariflocculators are generally used. This results into economical and faster installation of primary treatment. Our Clariflocculators are having high torque centre drive with sludge arm lifting device. We are the only manufacturers to provide this feature as standard. Main feature of clariflocculator, unlike others concentric paddle type flocculator, mechanism which creates the flocs throughout the flocculation zone.

The specifications are:

Fixed type full structural bridge with platform up to the centre with 1000 mm high handrails High torque makes centre drive with electric motor, RADICON make gearbox, chain drive  Two scraper arms having neoprene squeegees, RPM is 0.08 Centre scraper is provided. Turbine type flocculator impeller rotates concentrically at 5/10 RPM. Flocculation tank is supported from bridge. Flocculator motor is of 0.5 HP. Kindly notes that in our design, motor flocculator wall would be of MS supported from the bridge itself. Hence no flocculation zone RCC wall is required. GEARBOX The central RCC column is also not required because the full span structural bridge fixed type is given by us. In our design only the complete floor including clarifier & Flocculation zone are scraped twice in one revolution because of scraper arms from the centre to the outer circular wall. Scraping efficiency is more compared to end drive type, the wetted parts are one coat of Epoxy Primer and 2 coating of epoxy paint. The scraper arms lifting hand operated mechanism is provided so that incase of overloading the complete assembly can be lifted manually. We are the only manufacturer in India offering hand operated sludge arm lifting device without any extra cost.
