At ERICO, we have dedicated research and engineering departments that are devoted to product innovation and design. Every year, many of our customers propose ideas for new products or product enhancements. While we appreciate this input, many of these ideas and suggestions are not new to us, or we cannot make use of them in our industry.
However, there are certain ideas that we will consider as long as they relate to new or improved products, manufacturing methods or machinery. These are ideas that, if appropriate, could be patented.
We appreciate your interest in our products and ask that you review and follow the process outlined in the Idea Submission Form documentation.
ERICO prefers to have the idea or device protected before it is submitted. In this respect, a person considering making a submission may find the American Bar Association publication "Submitting An Idea" helpful. It is available for a small charge from the American Bar Association, 750 N. Lakeshore Drive, Chicago, Illinois 60611. You can also visit their website at www.abanet.org, ABA Publications and search for “Submitting an Idea” (Product Code 5370012).

I graduated from Ohio University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. In January 2005, I joined ERICO as a Senior Product Development Engineer. Currently I am working on some exciting projects, including designing improvements to some of our rail grinders.
Since joining ERICO, I have come to enjoy many facets of my job and the company. For one, there is a fascinating blend of chemical processes, mechanical applications, as well as electrical applications in this business. ERICO allows me to be part of all four major disciplines of engineering. I am gathering a broad range of experiences and differing challenges in my position. ERICO is unique from any other company because it has developed products for a marketplace that have lasted for over 100 years.
ERICO also offers its employees team building outside of the workplace to make our experience with the company more fun. For example, we participate in a Corporate Challenge, which encompasses area companies competing in athletic events. This has allowed us to build team camaraderie and pride for the company. ERICO's environment makes me feel like it's more than just another "day at work."

I graduated from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering in 1997 and 1999, respectively. In August 2003, I joined ERICO as a Product Engineer. Within six months, I was promoted to Development Engineer. During my tenure at ERICO, I have worked on some great projects, including my current work with surge products. ERICO's surge testing facilities and equipment are top of the line and allow me to be innovative in my work. ERICO is an attractive company because it is the perfect size. Although, ERICO is geographically a large company, it is small enough that I know many people within the organization and am able to gain exposure to senior management through assigned projects. I also like the fact that I am able to make a difference with the work that I do in this global organization.
ERICO is also a unique environment in that there are many employees with extremely long tenure at the company. The dedication of its employees says quite a bit about ERICO. The company acknowledges and recognizes its employees for their many years of service.

While employed with ERICO, I have been afforded multiple opportunities within many facets of the business. I joined ERICO in September 2000 as a Manufacturing Engineer, while enrolled in Cleveland State University's Master of Electrical Engineering program. In 2002 I was promoted to a second shift supervisor of manufacturing and then moved to a different product line as a day shift manufacturing supervisor in 2003. An exciting opportunity took me from the US to Australia to become a Plant Manager in 2004, and shortly thereafter the Supply Chain Manager for our Australia/Asia business. In that role, I led the restructuring of our Australian business by positioning ERICO's operations to more effectively support our aggressive sales growth in the region, and to become a dominant player in multiple markets. My next move was to Tilburg, the Netherlands to manage multiple projects for about 8 months in 2007. In July of 2007, I accepted my next opportunity in the States to manage the North American and Latin American Customer Service teams.
I like the opportunities that ERICO makes available to its employees, and its willingness to marry the needs of the company with the goals and aspirations of its employees. ERICO has allowed me to develop a wide range of technical and business skills and to pursue various roles within the company as I continue to grow professionally.
ERICO is unique in that it can offer the benefits of both a large and small company. Being a global company, ERICO places its employees in a very dynamic and diverse atmosphere which provides many opportunities to grow and to succeed. At the same time, ERICO is small enough to foster a real sense of belonging, where employees are more than just a number, making it possible to know and interact with people and to make an impact across the business.

During my tenure at ERICO, I have been involved in many new product launches and market expansion campaigns for a global audience. These have made my role here exciting and ever changing. The multi-cultural aspect of the customer base that ERICO serves as an international manufacturer and marketer has also allowed me to travel to new places around the world.

I attended primary and secondary school in Fiji and received my Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a major in Telecommunications from the University of Tasmania, Australia. I also hold a MBA with a concentration in Technology Management from Deakin University, Australia. Before joining ERICO, I worked in several engineering and project management roles. I came to ERICO in 1997 as an Electrical Engineer and then in 1999, left briefly to work for another company, only to re-join ERICO in 2000. During my tenure at ERICO, I have worked in several capacities. I began as an Electrical Engineer and then moved into a Senior Sales Engineer role. Most recently, I have been working as an Area Sales Manager for the ERITECH product line in Australia, looking after sales in the Oceania region. ERICO is a very stable company that allows me the freedom to plan and execute my sales operations. The company provides very good strategic plans and direction that form the platform, from which I develop operational plans and directions in my area of responsibility. ERICO is unique, in that it focuses on niche products, that are used in a wide range of engineering applications, including Power Utilities, Water, Building, Telecommunications, Agriculture, Manufacturing, Mining, Irrigation, Defense and Sports. This provides a diverse range of experience for me and makes my work exciting.

In 1992, I was recruited to ERICO as a Sales Engineer for Southeast France. I held this role until 1996 and then moved into a District Sales Manager position for France, Switzerland, and Asia. In 2001 I became the Area Sales Manager for West Europe and Asia. Presently, I am the Director of Sales for Europe and Asia and have held this role since 2002.
Throughout my career at ERICO, I have been exposed to many different Sales roles and have been involved in a variety of projects. One project gave me the opportunity to coordinate specifications for our product software with the assistance of a programmer. This project involved the design, programming, launch and training for a software tool that provides support to customers through the process of selecting products and obtaining quotes.
I was also fortunate to be involved with the start-up of divisions in Asia and Australia in 1998. We began this project with research and market surveys to determine the need for these sites, and eventually established our presence in the region and secured relationships with agents and distributors.
ERICO is a strong company with a solid product image in the marketplace. The Company is unique because it is focused on niche markets with quality products. The sales sector of the business allows ERICO employees great autonomy and the ability to introduce and develop new business. There are many opportunities for talented individuals to grow and develop within the Company. Additionally, ERICO emphasizes open communication, where individuals within the Company have the ability to speak with top management without hierarchy barriers. Overall, the people and opportunities have made this a rewarding environment for me.

Meet Harold...(Employee Profiles)
I joined ERICO in 1989 as a Material Handler in Electrical Fasteners. From 1990 through 2002, I held two different Set-up Operator roles. In 2002, I was promoted to my current position as a third shift Supervisor.
Not only do I work hard for ERICO, but I have also had the opportunity to play hard. I have been involved in many fun activities supported by ERICO, including softball, bowling, golf, and Cleveland Corporate Challenge events.
ERICO is a model of stability. The company recognizes its hardworking employees through a review system and bonus program that allows exceptional employees to be rewarded for their efforts. ERICO is unique in that it relies upon its employees in many decision-making processes that influence the daily plant operations. The employees’ unique perspective is considered an invaluable tool in helping the company reach its greatest potential.
Meet Andy... (Employee Profiles)
I joined ERICO in 1998 as a Plant Manager. In 2000,Iwas promoted toDirector of Manufacturing and finally in 2003 I wasadvanced to Director of Sales, where I currently reside.
Before joining ERICO, I received a Mechanical Engineering degree from GMI (now Kettering University), and also received a MBA from University of North Carolina-Charlotte. I was drawn to ERICO because of its small company nature. I felt I would be able to make more of an impact with my work. As it turns out, I was correct in my assessment of ERICO.
I have had an important role in starting up one of the facilities in Solon, been a part of acquisitions and also been able to start up new product developments. ERICO has offered me many opportunities to move around within the organizationand I enjoy the company because of such growth opportunities. ERICO has given me the opportunities to help grow the company and the freedom to have input in strategic decisions. For a smaller company, ERICO has a very diverse organization that spans the world. Recently, I have taken a 2 year assignment in the Netherlands to manage my European Sales team and develop and implement a growth strategy. This assignment will provide both ERICO and myself valuable information and training on how to bridge cultures and business climates in today's global environment.
