Essel Propack manufactures plastic tubes, speciality packaging and medical devices in its 25 state of the art facilities located across 13 countries. With the effective implementation of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and HMP (Harmonized Manufacturing Policy), Essel Propack attains over 90% efficiency at all its manufacturing units.
The Analytical Labs at the Creativity & Innovation centers house technologically advanced instruments, which are used in identifying, mapping polymers, polymer compounds and track impurities. To measure the mechanical properties of tubes and tube laminates, and forensic studies, these facilities are well-equipped with a complete range of instrumentation systems.
Essel Propack has developed sophisticated laboratories, which assist in all inspections related to simulate and measure barrier properties of film, laminate and the finished tubes. It is also possible to simulate various temperatures and relative humidity in these laboratories, and gauge their influence on the barrier properties of these tubes.
Our research centers consist of technologically advanced environmental chambers at the Sensory & Microbiology Lab to re-create real life test conditions. These high-tech machines also possess an inbuilt artificial Sun and Flooding System. The facilities assist the team in developing products of various styles, shapes, sizes and dimensions based on customer requirements.
Achievements
1984: Set up of manufacturing facility in India for production of laminate tubes and laminates.
1993: Essel Propack takes its first step towards becoming a global player by setting up its first overseas plant in Egypt.
1997: Opening of a wholly owned subsidiary in Guangzhou, China.
1999: Essel Propack set up their joint venture in Dresden, Germany.
2004: Essel Propack acquired Arista Tubes, UK - leading manufacturer of seamless plastic tubes in UK - now known as Essel Propack UK.
2005: Opening of facility in Danville, USA, to supply laminated tubes for Proctor & Gamble’s North American operations.
2005: Commercial operations began for Essel Propack in Russia.
2005: Essel Propack acquired another laminated tube manufacturing company; Telcon Packaging Limited based in UK, and is now known as Essel Propack UK Limited.
2005: In July of 2005, Essel Propack commissioned one more plant at Nalagarh, India, for manufacturing laminated tubes.
2006: Essel Propack forayed into the Medical Devices business by acquiring Tacpro Inc. in the USA and Avalon Medical Services in Singapore respectively. Both companies are manufacturers of Medical Devices such as catheters and balloons.
2006: Essel Propack announced plans to set up a co-extruded plastic tubes plant in mid-west Poland under the banner of Arista Tubes, UK which commenced operations in March 2007.
2006: Essel Propack acquired Packaging India Pvt. Ltd., one of the largest manufacturers of speciality packaging materials in India.
2006: In December 2006, commercial production of co-extruded plastic tubes began in Danville, Virginia in the USA, through the facilities at Arista Tubes Inc.
2007: Large-scale production of co-extruded plastic tubes began in Poland under the brand name Arista Tubes. The second plant of Packaging India Pvt. Ltd., located in Uttaranchal, for manufacturing of Speciality Packaging began commercial production in the same month.

Board of Directors
Subhash Chandra: Mr. Subhash Chandra promoted the Company in 1982. He is the Chairman of the Company as well as other Companies of Essel Group. He has taken Essel Group from a family-owned business to a global entity in the fields of Packaging, Media, Entertainment, Satellite communication and Online gaming.
Mr. Chandra has been the recipient of numerous honorary degrees, industry awards and civic honors, including being named 'Global Indian Entertainment Personality of the Year ' by FICCI for 2004, 'Business Standard 's Businessman of the Year ' in 1999, 'Entrepreneur of the Year ' by Ernst & Young in 1999 and 'Enterprise CEO of the Year ' by International Brand Summit. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) chose Mr. Chandra as the Chairman of the CII Media Committee for two successive years.
Mr. Chandra has made his mark as a philanthropist in India. He set up TALEEM (Transnational Alternate Learning for Emancipation and Empowerment through Multimedia), an organisation which seeks to provide access to quality education and to promote research in various disciplines relating to health & family life, social & cultural anthropology, communication and media. He is also the trustee for the Global Vippassana Foundation a trust set up for helping people in spiritual upliftment.
Mr. Chandra is also the Chairman of ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited, Zee News Limited and Wire & Wireless India Ltd. He also serves on the Board of Essel Infraproject Limited, Dish TV India Limited, Zee Multimedia Worldwide, Bvi, Asia Today Limited, Mauritius, United News of India, Adhikar Foundation, Agrani Satellite Services Limited and Agrani Holdings (Mauritius) Limited.
Ashok Kumar Goel: Mr. Ashok Kumar Goel has been associated with the Company as a Director since 1984 and is a Vice- Chairman & Managing Director. Mr. Goel holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is an experienced businessman who also oversees the management of the Essel Group's three existing leisure properties; viz., EsselWorld, Water Kingdom and Fun Kingdom.
K. V. Krishnamurthy: Mr. K. V. Krishnamurthy is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Indian Institute of Bankers. He has rich experience of over 33 years in the Banking industry and had consistently held positions of growth in stature and responsibility and had held the following positions in the recent past:

Boman Moradian: Mr. Boman Moradian is a Mechanical Engineer having graduated from VJTI, Mumbai. He has done his M.M.S in Operations from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies. He has 32 years’ rich experience having worked in various capacities, having consistently grown in stature and responsibility at Bharat Bijlee Ltd., Ambalal Sarabhai Enterprises (ASE) Ltd., Decom Marketing Ltd. and Shilpi Advertising Ltd. Since 1988, he is involved in free-lance Management Consultation practice in Productivity, Marketing and Mathematical Modeling of Systems for various corporate clients. Mr. Moradian is also on the Board of Garware Polyester Ltd. and Garware Industries Ltd.
Mukund Chitale: Mr. Mukund Chitale has over 35 years of experience as a practising chartered accountant. He was the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in 1997-1998.

Plasticon Award 2003: Essel Propack was awarded the Plasticon Award 2003 by Plast India Foundation in the categories of ‘Innovation and Packaging’ and ‘Creative Packaging’ for manufacturing of tubes for the long nozzle Garnier Under Eye Cream, Fair & Lovely tubes and the transparent tubes for Pears face wash.
PFFCA Awards: The awards are instituted by the Paper, Film, & Foil Converting Association (PFFCA) to promote and encourage R&D, design, innovations and improvements, exports, new product introduction, new market penetration in the field of the growing flexible packaging and paperboard carton industry.
PFFCA Awards 2003: The PFFCA (Paper, Film, & Foil Conversion Association) Award 2003 was awarded to Essel Propack in the ‘Innovation in Packaging’ and ‘Creative Packaging’ categories for designing and developing the long nozzle tube for Garnier Under Eye Cream, tubes for Fair & Lovely and the transparent Colgate paste tubes.
PFFCA Awards 2005: Essel Propack received the PFFCA Award in 2005 in Creative Packaging and Innovative Application under Student (Trainee) categories for the manufacture of its breakthrough soft-feel tube produced for Rickett Benckiser’s hair removing cream. The Innovative Application under Student (Trainee) was awarded for the transparent tube devised for children’s jam.
PFFCA Awards 2007: The PFFCA Award 2007 was awarded to Essel Propack in the ‘Innovative Packaging’ category for the oval tube created for Fair & Lovely, and in the ‘Creative Packaging for Pack Enhancement’ category for its efforts in implementing the five-color silk printing on the co-extruded tube of Parachute hair gel.
PFFCA Awards 2008: The PFFCA Awards 2008 were awarded to Essel Propack in the “Eco friendly Packaging” category for the Etain tube (PCR code 2), in the “Innovation & Creativity- New Application” category for High barrier laminated Pharma/Cosmetic tube and in “Product development-Basic substrate” category for Holographic tube.
India Star Awards 2008: The India Star 2008 award was given to Essel Propack in the “Consumer Packaging Eco friendly Packaging” category for Etain tube (PCR code 2) and “all Plastic see through Tube” in food packaging application category.
PFFCA Awards 2009: The PFFCA Star Award 2009 was awarded to Essel Propack in the “Eco friendly Packaging” category for the EPL fully biodegradable tubes, and “New Applications” category for Transparent clear PBL tube.

The objective of EP’s overall policy with regard to Corporate Social Responsibility matters is to provide a reference point to guide stakeholders, including all employees, on the elements that drive the conduct of EP’s business and relationships with the world in which we operate.
Responsibility:Vice Chairman & Managing Director are the main board directors with primary responsibility of CSR. Stakeholders, particularly employees, are invited to provide feedback on the nature and operation of the Corporate Social Responsibility statement. Each of the eight policy commitments are owned by individual managers, all of whom will monitor performance on a regular basis.
