A calorimeter is a device used for calorimetry the science of measuring the heat of chemical reactions or physical changes as well as capacity. The word calorimeter is derived from the latin word calor, meaning heat. Differential scanning calorimeters, isothermal micro calorimeters, titration calorimeters and accelerated rate calorimeters are among the most common types. A simple calorimeter just consists of a thermometer attached to an insulated container. To find the enthalpy change per mole of a substance a in a reaction between two liquids a and b, the liquids are added to a calorimeter and the initial and final (after the reaction has finished) temperature are noted. Multiplying the temperature change by the mass and specific heat capacities of the liquids gives a value for the energy given off during the reaction (assuming the reaction was exothermic. ). Dividing the energy change by how many moles of x were present gives its enthalpy change of reaction. This method is used primarily in academic teaching as it describes the theory of calorimetry. It doesn’t however account for the heat loss through the container or the heat capacity of the thermometer and container itself. In addition, the object placed inside the calorimeter show that the objects transferred their heat to the calorimeter and into the liquid, and the heat absorbed by the calorimeter and the liquid is equal to the heat given off by the metals.

The boiling chamber, the lid, the cooling condensor and any other part coming into contact with water / steam are made of 304 quality stainless steel sheets. Heating is achieved with kettle type immersion heaters in stoke pattern models and with industrial type heaters with flange mounting in barnstead models. Works on 220/440 volts, ac mains, as per the capacity of the plants.

Est-ph101 ph meter is a device used for potentiometric ph measurements. Ph can be measured using either ph indicators (like phenolophtaleine) - in form of solution or ph strips - or using potentiometric method. Strips are very useful when all you need is 0. 5-1 ph unit accuracy. When you need higher precision, ph meter is the only way to go. In potentiometric methods you measure potential difference between known reference electrode and the measuring ph electrode. The latter depends on the activities of ions you want to measure. This dependence is described by nernst equation, thus once the potential has been measured you can calculate the activity. Ph meter is nothing else but precise voltmeter, connected to the ph electrode, and scaled in such a way that it displays not the measured potential, but ready ph value.

These water distillation plants have been designed to meet with the requirements of best quality of distilled water. These are best suitable for removing all type of impurities(organic, inorganic , gaseous, bacterial and pyroganic) leaving a final pure distillate. The evaporators are fitted with a set of totally immersed long life heating elements and heavily quoted with tin metal. The elements are easily removable . These are of self ejection type and in case of short supply of water burn outs are not possible.

A convenient drain valve is provided for flushing and easy accessibility to the entire evaporation chamber makes cleaning extremely easy. It is double walled. The outer and inner (boiler) is made of ss. The gap between walls is filled with special grade glass wool to a void loss of heat. The condenser is made of ss. The top of boiler is made of ss sheet of chromium plated die casted gun metal.   the inlet water washing in to the stills flows around & out side of the condenser tubes where it become pre heated nearly to the boiling point.

the preheated water then passes out of the condenser & give way out to the gaseous  and volatile impurities in  the atm  with the help of special device incorporated here in and finally enters the boiling pan for distillation. The constant level automatically maintains a particular height of water in the boiling pan and allows excess of water to go out. The bolling water is converted in to pure clean dry steam which rises through the baffles to finally run over to the condenser tubes and it is condensed in to distilled water. By turning the cock the boiling pan is rapidly and thoroughly flushed of its concentrated impurities which it has collected from the water supply.
