FADE is a fashion and design house that was created to capture the essence of modern India. FADE creations are refined, timeless and elegant, that marry contemporary and traditional techniques and aesthetics. FADE was launched in January 2007 as a family venture, whose core team comprises of Urja Shah and Sneha Sheth.
Urja holds a B.S. in Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, after which she went to complete her M.A.in Natural Resource and Environmental Policy from Duke University¿s Nicholas School of Environment.She began her fashion career in 2002, after graduating with an AAS in Fashion Design from the prestigious Parsons School of Design, New School University, New York. During her time in New York, she interned with DKNY International, and also did a short stint with an accessories import firm, which supplied to labels such as Tommy Bahama and Juicy Couture amongst others.
Sneha Sheth holds an M.Phil in Political Science from J.N.U Delhi, and is both an artist and a designer, whose involvement in textile and design has spanned over two decades. She earned her diploma in Textile Design from Sophia Polytechnic,and in Printing and Dyeing from Weavers Service Centre, Mumbai. Her creativity was professionally channeled when she began quilt making in 1993 under her label ¿Snuggles¿, which catered to various local clients as well as tohome¿furnishing retailers in other cities.
Urja and Sneha began their fashion ventures by designing custom bridal couture from their Tardeo studio. They built up a list of customers that now includes an exclusive clientele globally. They have brought their talents to the fore by creating FADE, a line of clothing that is both intelligent and versatile. From the traditionally Indian, FADE has evolved into a western pr¿t label, for the chic, elegant and trendy woman.
