Founded in 1967, Mr. Tay Juhana humbly started Sambu Group as a coconut oil processing plant in the Riau province of Sumatra, producing crude coconut oil, cooking oil and copra expeller. Over the years, increasing demand of coconut products & organic coconut products from Sambu Group has called for greater diversification in manufacturing to include a comprehensive range of coconut based products, all with international quality accreditations. Today, Sambu Group has emerged as the single largest integrated coconut industry in the world, showcasing 3 factories, a 100,000 hectares plantation and 6 dynamic marketing offices in five different countries including FTH. In addition, the Group's operations have philanthropically established social communities to provide for all worker's basic needs including lodging, educational, medical and recreational facilities. What could have been a barren land with scarce business activities has now thrived and evolved from a rural area to a vibrant community.

As quality, safety and hygiene are our main priorities, our processing plants exercises Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) Food Safety as norm and take Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) seriously.
