FOAM HOME was established in the year 1976 as a partnership concern and was subsequently, in the year 1990, converted into a Pvt., Ltd., Co.
FOAM HOME started its business as the distributors for Maratt Polymers Pvt Ltd., Bangalore, for very superior quality of Latex Foam Mattresses, pillows and cushions of ISI Grade. However the latex foam market was turning extremely competitive, manufacturers in the North started making cheaper and cheaper Latex foam and the Mumbai market was flooded with such foam. During this period many rubber foam units in the south had to close down. FOAM HOME did not want to compromise on quality as a result it was unable to sell in the market.
Since the selling of good quality latex foam was extremely difficult, during this period FOAM HOME came up with a brilliant idea of reconditioning of old mattresses. This process in the real sense made old mattresses new for atleast another five years. To facilitate the customers, the mattresses were reconditioned in just eight hours. Customers were supposed to deliver the mattresses in the morning gat the showroom and collect the same after reconditioning, the same evening.
FOAM HOME during this period, reconditioned as many as 20,000 foam mattresses and this gave them a tremendous popularity for their workmanship and excellent services.
During 1985-1990 the market trend for polyurethane foam was that, each manufacturer was trying to make foam of lesser density than the other. The density of PU foam went to as low as 9 Density and this foam in no way could be used for cushioning purposes. During this phase, FOAM HOME introduced in the market High Density polyurethane foam. FOAM HOME received a very positive response. A product which had lost its name was revived. The demand for good PU foam increased in the market.
