Plummer Blocks

Friends 'S' Series plummer blocks are manufactured in wide range from ¾" (20 mm) to 8" (210 mm) shaft size, suitable for double row self aligning ball/ roller bearings. Series S-500 is suitable for 1200 k, 2200 k, 22200 CK bearings and S-600 is suitable for 1300 k, 2300 k and 22300 CK series bearings with adapter sleeves.

Friends SN Series horizontally split type plummer blocks are ideally suitable for moderate loads, speeds and relatively clean and temperate environment. The width of bearing seat in the SN series plummer blocks is such that it gives bearings axial freedom. A locating bearing is positioned by the insertion of one or two locating rings as the case may be for its axial location. SN series plummer blocks are suitable for grease lubrication. Felt strips and grease nipples can be supplied along with plummer blocks on order. For dirty environment SN series plummer blocks can be supplied with horizontal metal labyrinth seals.

Friends SNA series horizontally split plummer blocks (bearing housings) are completely interchangeable with earlier SN type plummer blocks, concerning mainly to its center height, foundation bolt centres. Same bearing housings can be used for 500 and 600 series bearings having equal bearing outside diameter by changing its shaft seals, eg. SNA 506 plummer blocks can be used as SNA 605 also where bearing O.D of 1206 K and 1305 K are equal, eg. 52 mm. Similarly same plummer blocks can be used for bearing with tapered bore mounted with adapter sleeve or bearing with (straight) cylindrical bore. However such plummer blocks are designated as SNA 500 and SNA 600 for bearings with adapter sleeves and SNA 200 & SNA 300 for bearings with cylindrical bores. Bearings seating width provides axial freedom which can be made axially located by insertion of suitable locating rings.

 

SNA plummer blocks are supplied with felt seals (designated and suffixed as TC) rubber V Ring seals (TA) and one ring and one end cover (ATA). These plummer blocks can also be supplied with double lip seals (TG) or labyrinth seals (TS) on order.

Friends SNH series plummer blocks are also horizontally split and are fully interchangeable with those of earlier SN and SNA series plummer blocks. Its more favourable cross section and improved design have resulted into greater strength as compound to SN or SNA series plummer blocks.

 

SNH plummer blocks have dowel pins at its mating surface to ensure correct assembly of base and cap. The bases and caps are not interchangeable. Like SNA series, the plummer blocks of SNH series are also supplied with standard shaft seals eg. felt seals or V rings or V ring on one end and end cover on other end. Special shaft seals such as labyrinth seals or double lip seals, taconite seals can also be supplied against orders.

SD Series Plummer Blocks are made of grey cast iron grade, which is made from iron cast steel castings. 
SD Series Plummer Blocks are suitable for spherical roller bearings of series 231 k with adapter sleeves for shaft diameter of 150 mm to 300 mm, and same are designated as SD 31. Plummer blocks are suitable for bearings series 230 that are designated as SD 30. Similarly SD 500 and SD 600 series plummer blocks are suitable for 22200 ck and 22300 ck series bearings respectively. 

 

These plummer blocks are either supplied with triple seal type labyrinth collars on both ends and the plummer blocks housings are designated by suffix TS or with triple seal type labyrinth collar on one end and end cover on other end for end shaft, which are designated with suffix ATS. All labyrinth seals are supplied with rubber "0" cords and alien grub screws which ensure that the seal rotates with the shaft. 

 

All SD series plummer blocks are suitable for floating loose (l) bearings it can be held or fixed (f) by inserting suitable locating rings which are supplied on orders.
