Electric Resistance Basin Tilting Furnace rated at 60kW, 90kW or 120kW in four standard crucible sizes. Supplied with either contactor or thyristor controls.

The Stotherm is a fully automatic low energy electric resistance holding furnace for aluminium which has been developed with co-operation be-between foundry men and electronic or refactory experts. The furnace body is of robust welded steel construction lined with DIDIER high quality insulation materials. The refactory in contact with metal has a high resistance to aluminium oxide formation. Height adjustment of the complete assembly is by means of support legs fitted with jacking screws.

Major consideration has been given to functional design and very low power consumption. Power to the furnace is regulated by thyristors and a sophisticated electronic temperature and therefore consistent quality. Special pre-shaped STOTEK block elements, well know for their robust construction, long life and reliability, are fitted as standard. Element replacement, if necessary, is executed from the side of the furnace by removing the lid.

To facilitate unobstructed access for inspection and cleaning, the entire top of the furnace can be removed using a built-in hydraulic pump. The wall-mounted control panel is fitted with easily readable instruments which enable precise and effective control of the metal temperature. An alarm is included for open circuit or incorrectly connected temperature sensors.
