Dispersant Additives

Dispersant Additives

Dispersant additives (GL 1951) are an ash less succinimide lubricating dispersant oil additive with extended thermal stability. It generally finds application with corrosion and oxidation inhibitors and alkaline detergents in gasoline and diesel engine oils. It provides excellent low temperature sludge and varnish control in gasoline engines. The dispersant additive is also effective dispersancy for deposit control in both medium-speed and high temperature super-charged diesel engines.

Formulation for the dispersant additive recommended is 0.5% to 5.0% by weight and by volume too. The additive is used in combination with detergent and inhibitor chemicals in cranckase engine oils for improving lubricant dispersancy properties for engines operating under low and high temperature conditions.

Applications for the Dispersant Additive:
  • Lubricant and fuel additives
  • Emulsifiers
  • It diffuses sludge, carbon, soot, oxidation products, and other deposit precursors in engine oils
  • The result is reduced deposit formation, less oil oxidation, and less viscosity increase
  • An ash less dispersant additive and have low chlorine content

Extreme Pressure Additives

Extreme Pressure Additives

Extreme pressure additives (GL 1315) are light colored, 40% sulfur-containing with high sulfur activity. It is recommended at 2% to 10% by weight in paraffinic or naphthenic oils for formulating a wide variety of ferrous metal cutting fluids.

Performance

Extreme pressure additives (GL 1315) are versatile component used in formulating a wide variety of industrial fluids. It works as a high sulfur extreme pressure agent for gear oils, metalworking fluids, and hydraulic fluids. The additive offers excellent performance in machining tough ferrous alloys as well as mild steel and cast iron in various operations such as:
  • Milling
  • Drilling
  • Tirmomg
  • Grimdomg
  • Light and medium-duty broaching
  • Thread cutting
  • Tapping

Viscosity Index Improver

Viscosity Index Improver

Viscosity index improver (GL 3015), is a cost-effective OCP viscosity modifier meets global needs efficiently. It is a non-dispersant olefin co-polymer viscosity modifier which is specially engineered for providing low-temperature performance while maintaining excellent film strength and engine test performance.

Viscosity index improver (GL 3015), an oil concentrate of an olefinic copolymer is primarily used as a viscosity index improver for crankcase lubricants particularly where excellent shear stability is required.

There is possibility of some loss in viscosity and in viscosity index because of the shear forces encountered in engine operation. It applies to all viscosity index improver. In this respect, our range performs excellently as evidenced by an average viscosity loss of 14 % at 100° C for SAE 15W-50 crankcase oils in over the road service.

Formulations:

SAE Grade                         *Approximate Treatment
% Volume or Weight
10W304.7-6.5
15W406.0-8.0
20W403.4 - 4.8
20W-505.6 - 8.0

Applications:

GL 3015 is recommended for use in suitable base stocks for preparing multi grade crankcase engine oils.

The performance package and base stock used are the factors on which actual treatment levels depend on. A blend study is done for modifying the treatment level for a particular formulation.
