About Us

General Book Depot' was started by Mr. W.R. Goyal in 1933 at 1691, Nai Sarak, Delhi-110006. We were the leading importers of books from U.K & U.S.A. in fifties and sixties. We were agents for Macmillan, Harper & Row, Penguin, McGraw-Hill etc. Our showroom is one of the biggest in Northern-India.

We are one of the leading supplier of books to school and college libraries all over India. Mr. Ravindra Goyal started Publishing under the name 'Binny Publishing House' in 1977. We are now reprinting books under the imprint 'GOYLSaaB' and 'W.R. Goyal Publishers & Distributors'. We have published about 300 books till now on English Vocabulary, Language and Dictionaries. We have reprinted a series of vocabulary books by 'Norman Lewis' of which 'Word Power Made Easy' is the most effective vocabulary builder in the English language.

We are pioneers in foreign language reference and self-study books. We are reprinting French Language Text Books and Dictionaries recommended and used by Alliance Francaise, Universities and Schools all over India. We are also publishing German Language Text Books & Dictionaries recommended and used by the 'Max Mueller Bhavan', Universities and Schools all over India. Our foreign language publications include Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Chinese etc.
