Electric cylinders are basically worm gear screw jacks. However the screw is fully enclosed by push rod which is guided in the protection tube.

In the field of power transmission, Bevel Gearboxes have special place because of their ability to change the direction of power transmission usually to 90 deg. Bevel gearbox can also transmit high torque at high speed with low power loss unlike worm gearboxes.

The primary purpose of Bevel Gearboxes are many fold. They are :

Transmitting power at 90 deg, splitting power (one input- 2 or 3 outputs), decreasing speed-increasing torque, increasing speed- decreasing torque, connecting to several input devices.

T and L drive  gearboxes are miniature bevel gearboxes to transmit power at 90 deg, split power and for decreasing speed and increasing the torque.

Universal joints are used to transmit torque from one shaft to another which are offset to each other. It is an ideal form of coupling two shafts when offset is unavoidable.

Universal joints are made from heat treated alloy steels for increased over load and reliability. Precision machining ensures optimum performance under severe load conditions.
