Shampoo Manufacturing Plant*

MANUFACTURING PROCESS


Shampoos are manufactured by simple slow blending in a stirred vessel. The vessel may be jacketed for heating. Vessels are normally closed type and subjected to vacuum to avoid excessive foaming when foaming agent is added. For best results contra type rotating stirrer is best used for shampoo manufacturing.

Ingredients are weighed or metered incrementally into the mixing vessel, with thorough mixing between each addition. A moderate amount of heat is used to reduce the viscosity and so facilitate ease of mixing.

Some pearlising agents are waxy solids at ambient temperature and require melting in a premixing vessels before use. Demineralised water is most commonly used in order to minimise contamination of the product.

No further processing is required after blending, & perfuming and the product may be packed off directly from the mixing vessel. Or may be transferred to storage vessels from where they are transferred to the filling machines.

Many companies make the bases for the shampoos where they do all the premxing of surfactants, sles, other ingredients and sell the same to major industries These industries are mainly called the formulators and in this second level processing will involve only the addition of water, colour and fragrance. In case of ayurvedic or herbal shampoos, they add their propriety formulae ingredients in the shampoos. Automation is available such that required ltrs of premixes are transferred into the mfg vessel automatically from number of premixes vessels.

Hair oils is one of the most simplest to manufacturer. Hair oil is manufactured in simple stirring type vessel at slow speed. The different type of oil bases are mixed as per the formulae and then active ingredients are added. Perfuming is done and then directly taken for filling.

TOOTHPASTE MANUFACTURING MIXER consists of a Main Manufacturing Vessel also known as Contra Mixer. Contra Mixer as the name suggest works on the principle of Contra rotation of Blades for simultaneous beating and scraping operation. The mixer is highly versatile and mostly used for manufacturing Tooth Paste, Creams, Cosmetics and other viscous products.

The Mixing Assembly consists of series of paddle type blades of appropriate shape to move the material back towards the centre of the container. The paddle type blades are provided on the central shaft which runs through a hollow shaft on which other sets of blades are welded. Both the sets of blades intermeshes with each other and rotates in clockwise and anti-clockwise direction respectively and one sets also scraps the container wall for thorough and uniform mixing of the material.

The mixer is so designed to withstand high vacuum applied during the process for optimum mixing. Contra Mixer is provided with a jacket for cooling or heating as per the application. The vessel shall have a shell of suitable thickness with a hemispherical bottom and flanged top dish made out of S.S. 316 plate. The vessel shall be jacketed insulated and cladded. The vessel shall be suitable for 600 to 700 mm of Hg vacuum and internal pressure of 3 Kgs / cm2.

The top lid of the Mixer m/c shall be provided with hydraulic lifting and lowering arrangement, if required. Hydraulic arrangement will consist of : ( Optional at extra cost)
  1. Hard Crome plated HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS ( 2 Nos. )
  2. Limit switches at upper and lower limits
  3. Power pack with direction control valve by actuated
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Machine design as per the vacuum application for de-airation of mixing container, to remove air bubbles from the product during mixing for GEL products. ( Vacuum System) vacuum pump is not in our scope of supply.
  • Insulation will be provided on jacket of container. The insulation will be covered with M.S. material in standard model and SS304 material in GMP model.
  • Material discharge from bottom. Flush bottom valve provided for material discharge.
  • M/C provided with Light glass, Sight glass, material inlet, water inlet, steam & washing water inlet, air suction valve for vacuum, vacuum gauge etc...
  • Mixing assembly have two speed facility. Variable speed drive facility for mixing assembly will be provided on extra cost, as a OPTIONAL facility.

Talcum Powder Manufacturing Plant*

Ribbon type mixers are used for talcum powder or toothpowders. The material is sieved through sifter and then put into ribbon blender. Blenders have single or double helical blades to suit various requirements of customers. The entire machine is made out of SS 316 L contact parts and SS304 non contact parts. Special chopper arrangements (lump breaker) is available as option for breaking of lumps if any (if sieved material is not put in the blender and lumps are there) in the ribbon mixer. For perfuming of the powders special spray system is also mounted on the top of the blender so that fine mist of perfumes or any active ingredient in liquid form can be sprayed into the powders when mixing is taking place to ensure uniform mixing of each batch. Bottom discharge system, reverse forward movements of baldes etc with control panel and safety systems incorporated in the machines.

In Inline agitation system, the possibility of materials –Liquid or Solid passing through it, without subjected to intense hydraulic and mechanical shear actions is zero. Here suction pipe (inlet pipe) is centrally mounted & outlet is radially mounted , therefore it is physically impossible for any material to pass from inlet to outlet without exposed to agitation.

The stator which surrounds rotor is available with various type of opening i.e. round, square, rectangular & with perforation also so that all the critical demand of Mixing, Emulsifying, Disintegration & Dispersion of solids, suspension can be met out by same equipment.

The machine is versatile & has completely revolutionized the traditional mixing techniques. Here close tolerance of rotor with the stator produces high hydraulic shearing & mechanical action that ensures that material entrapped between rotor & stator is subjected to tremendous shearing actions each minute.

“Bombay” Starch Paste Kettle Will Be Made Out Of S.S. 304 Rectangular Pipes Of 3 Mm Thk And Will Be An Independent Resting Type Frame Work Where No Foundation Will Be Required. The Kettle Will Be A Hemispherical Type Bowl With Either Steam / Oil / Water Heating Jacket Will Be Provded. The Kettle Will Be Manufactured From 2.5 Mm Thk S.S. 304 Sheet And The Jacket Will Be Of 2.5 Mm Mild Steel (In Case Of Steam Jacket The Thickness Will Be 4 Mm) . There Will Be Oil / Water Heated Fitted At The Back Bottom Side Of The Kettle. The Kettle Will Be Having A Worm Type Arrangement For Tilting . A Temperature Controller And A Temp Indicator Will Be Provided For Temp Control And Indication. The Kettle Will Be Insulated With 50 Mm Thk Glasswool Insulation And Claded With 16 Swg S.S. 304 Sheet. FUNCTIONS:

Basically This Unit Is Used For Preparation Of Starch Paste. Hemispherical Shape Ensures That The Heating Of The Starch Paste Is Uniform And Gets More Surface Area. The Tilting Type Arrangement Ensures Ease In Unloading The Paste Into Any Container Or Vessel. The Starch Is Put In The Kettle And Water Is Added Till Desired Thickness Is Achieved. The Kettle Is Jacketed And Is Heated Till Till The Starch Melts And A Thick Paste Is Achieved. This Paste Can Be Agitated Either Manually Or With The Help Of A Anchor Type Agitator Which Will Constantly Stir The Paste So That There Will No Lumps Formation And Proper Mixing Is Achieved.

Temperature Can Be Set To Desired Temp By Adjusting The Thermostat Provided And The Temperature Can Be Seen In The Dial Thermometer Provided.



Planetory Mixers *

It consists of 2 beater agitators which moves in planetary motion hence giving 3 dimensional mixing to the material in the bowl. There is also a scraper blade. There is also a high speed homogenizer through a hollow shaft with an independent drive system. The beater and scraper rotate with help of motor and gear box and the planetary motion is provided by another set of gears fitted in the machine. The bowl is jacketed with either steam or electric jacket. It is provided with suitable locking system which is removable type. Top assembly consists of a top dish with gasket, Gear system coupled with suitable gear box and motor. High speed homogenizer through hollow shaft Suitable hydraulic lifting system is given for top lid lifting and lowering. Mechanical seals provided for both main and homogenizer agitators. Contact parts are of S.S. 316 or S.S. 304 as per clients requirements and non contact parts are cladded with S.S. 304 in case of GMP model and painted in case of NON GMP model.
