In the year 1969 we at GEE set up our first welding electrode manufacturing plant at Thane, near Mumbai. Our company entered into a technical collaboration with Messer Griesheim Gmbh of Frankfurt to accomplish this mission. In a reasonable period of time we could make rapid strides in terms of product portfolio expansion, production, sales and support services. Today, GEE’s unmatched expertise in welding technology and metallurgy driven by in-house R&D and global networking and documentation systems can solve welding problems however intricate they may be. In this process we also create new knowledge on an on-going basis to enrich the welding industry. The impeccable quality of GEE brands electrodes, wires and fluxes has helped the company to have a pan-India presence extended over to Persian Gulf countries. Demand for GEE brands further went up with the rapid industrialization of our country.
To make good use of this encouraging scenario GEE has now set up two green field plants one at Kalyan, near Mumbai, side by side phasing out the Thana plant and another at Kolkata thus doubling the production capacity to 13,200tons.These plants, ISO 9001:2000 accredited by Det Norske Veritas, are fully integrated and are equipped with modern machinery and systems for production, packing and dispatch. And these are supported with a well-defined supply-chain, dealer and rep.network, delivery logistics and IT driven sales and administrative network. |
