GRIDUCT - 5 E 7018G

Classification :

AWS/SFA 5.5 :  E 7018G,   IS814 : EB5626H3 JX

Characteristics :

A heavy coated basic type, hydrogen - controlled, iron powder electrode with high deposition efficiency. The electrode deposits weld metal having about 0.60% nickel and is of radiographic quality and meets impact requirements at minus 50° C.

The weld deposit is tough, ductile and is highly resistant to hot or cold cracking even when subjected to high stresses, dynamic loading etc.

Typical Application :

For the welding of structural steel where resistance to brittle fracture is required under adverse operating conditions such as those found in off-shore production platforms.  Used for production of pressure vessels, bridges,pipelines Recommended for higher carbon & higher Sulphur steels, which are susceptible to hydrogen induced cracking.  For welding SAILMA 350HI steel, storage tanks, pipe line etc.

Classification:

Characteristics:

A basic coated low hydrogen electrode which deposits extra low carbon 2.25%Cr / 1.0 % Mo weld metal. It is intended for welding creep resisting steels of similar composition, used in power generating plant operating at temperatures upto 600°C.The welds are of X-ray quality.

Typical Application:

ASTM A 335 grade P22 ASTM A199, A200 T3b, T4,T21, T22,A213 T22,A181 F22, boilers,pressure vessels, headers, high pressure piping, heat exchangers and condensers, power generation, oil refineries, petrochemical industries, valve bodies, superheaters hydrocrackers, coal liquification plant.

Characteristics:

A low hydrogen basic coated, Iron powder type electrode for welding high strength steels. Weldable in all positions except vertical down. The electrode deposits weld metal of radiographic/x-ray quality.

Typical Application:

Ideally suitable for welding of  high strength steels, fine grained steels, HSLA, Q & T steels, etc.  Ideal for welding high strength steel such as Weldox 700, HY100, N-A-XTRA 70, Stc 690 etc.

Welding Procedure:

Use short arc length and stringer bead.  Electrode should be in perfectly dry condition.  Redry Electrodes at 350 C-400 C /2 hrs.

Diffusible Hydrogen content in the weld metal: Max 4.0ml/100g of weld metal

Microstructure: As welded, Ferritic with acicular Ferrite
