About Us

The GMR Group has a significant presence in the power sector through its power companies, under the flagship of GMR Energy Ltd ( GMR Group). GMR Group has a current installed capacity of 823 MW of power projects with nearly 8000 MW under various stages of implementation and development.

GMR Group holds the distinction of being the first private company to develop a 1500 MW hydro power plant in Nepal. To expand its footprints in the international energy market, GMR Group acquired a 50% stake in InterGen, a Dutch power major with a global asset base of 8000 MW installed capacity. Further, GMR Group has acquired stake in the prestigious Power Exchange India Ltd. (PXIL) which is promoted by National Stock Exchange (NSE) and National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX). PXIL is one of the two Power Trading Exchange operating in the country today and the other is the Indian Energy Exchange(IEX) promoted by Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (MCX) and Financial Technologies.
