About UsGreen the Gap Collective (GtG) is a collective of several organizations that work on issues of livelihood and sustainability, providing production, warehousing and marketing solution to its partners. It provides a one-stop solution in eco-friendly products and services for its patrons, thereby creating employment and livelihood for people at the bottom of the pyramid and also making these solutions accessible and affordable for customers. Most of our products are made from recycled material in accordance with Fair trade principles. Unlike those who run similar enterprises for pure financial gain, GtG focuses more on popularizing eco-friendly products, widening the market beyond the elite and enabling ordinary people to participate. This ensures that the profit generated empowers the communities and individuals involved Over the past 1 year, GtG has engaged more then 10 community based groups, organisations and producers, 80% of them working directly with women and/or people below the poverty line. GtG?s own production facility employs 12 artisans; 100 % of them were migrant labourers, 30% of whom were homeless and/or disabled. In terms of popularising green and just consumption, we have introduced 12 institutions to this practice, including large government organizations and private companies. |
